2 reasons why I would be excited and worried about the news of 1 year paid leave for both parents but they are not guaranteed their jobs when they return. (Team A, government)

As the government I would be excited as the law has been approved by the president, this will lead to the birth rate of Singapore citizens increasing which can solve the aging population crisis. The next reason I will be excited as the government is I may receive more approvals from the citizens and be paid more. For my worries, the first reason is due to citizens taking advantage of this rule and benefitting and getting free pay, they will become pampered and not work to contribute to the economy as tax payers. The next worry is it may lead to parents that are not able to get children due to medical reasons/religion feel its unfair to those who get extended free pay due to their maternity leave, this may lead to some conflicts towards the government.

I have learnt about identities in Singapore and how they are shaped by factors such as race, religion, language, and culture. Through this topic, I was able to explore the unique experiences and challenges that different communities face in Singapore. I learnt to view these identities not just on the surface, but more deeply by putting myself in their shoes and understanding their stories, values, and backgrounds.

I have gotten better in understanding biasness, discrimination in Singapore. If a race is majority in a country, they will face less discrimination. However, If it is a minority race they will face a ton of racism, discrimination. This can lead them to being misunderstood and feel it is unfair to them.

Today, I learnt more about the stereotypes that exist in Singapore and how they can affect the way we see and treat others. I now understand how to identify bias, stereotypes, and discrimination in everyday situations even the subtle ones. What stood out to me most was learning practical ways to overcome these biases. It made me reflect on my own thoughts and actions, and how important it is to be aware and respectful toward people who are different from me. This session really helped me see the value of empathy and being more open minded.

I have learnt more and what is the shared Singapore identity. Through the videos I understand more about peoples perspective on the Singaporean identity. I am also aware on the ever growing and evolving perspective of what people think of Singapore. Therefore, we should continue to improve and accept suggestions and perspective to maintain the Singaporean identity.

I have learnt that through the spreading of diverse ideas, we are able to understand each other better. This allows us to work with each other easily and form mutual collaboration making the society a more cohesive place. Additionally, I believe that making racist jokes is starting to be normalised, even subtle saying he is malay thats why can be offensive to the person, we should not head to that direction as a country and work together to head to the right path.

I have learnt a lot today through the well crafted games put in place and my active participation. The games I played puts you in a Singaporean perspective as your a country struggling to survive amidst your neighboring country. Through my given country, i unfortunately got a poor resource generating country and I don't produce minerals or valuable resources however I produce food. Through my one an only asset, I traded with other planets in order to fulfill my objective I form bonds and relations to survive as a planet. This relates to Singapore way of staying prosperous through the means we go through.

I practiced the presentation skills I have learnt throughout the module. I presented my group slides regarding my personal perspective and our community perspective. Through that exercise, i gained confidence and I am ready to tackle future presentations. I greatly appreciate this module and this last lesson.
