This is what Australia's geographic setting looks like. Australia is the only country in the world that is also a continent. 200 million year ago there was something called a super continent, but then it broke apart into a bunch of tectonic plated which formed loads of individual countries. Australia reached it's present location from forming over millions of years.

After independence, Australians adopted a “white Australia” immigration policy. This had a purpose to keep "colored people" out of there country. Any person that wanted to be a part of there country had to take the "dictation" test. Officials read aloud a 50-word statement in a European language.
