Computational modelling proved to be the best method to reach the forward problem in case of an oil spill. Nevertheless, this method tends to use a significant load of randomness in its inner source-codes whilst retrieving its data. Mastering these codes is of great support to calibrate the user's intentions and hold control over the output.

Needless to say that it is unexpected - to date - that science will provide an alternative to stochasticity, as there is likely to be countless phenomena, which are still to be learnt. Notwithstanding the intention of replacing the stochasticity, the aim here is to have better control over it. Consequently, providing a new and "natural" approach to find the forward problem.

As the next step in this pursuit, complex methods such as "Artificial Neural Network" and other nature-based mathematics could be applied in a classical trajectory standard so as to use a more natural approach.

The computational cost is still a matter to be resolved, due to the complexity and interaction among several different mathematical behaviour and the computer's capacity to run it thoroughly. As a step ahead: heading toward a systematic approach to find the source of a pollutant can be handy to identify illegal emissions and environmental threat origins, allowing this research to assist with the mitigation procedures.

Fernanda: - During the process of occupation of areas for human activities and exploration of natural resources, environmental accidents of great relevance were recorded, especially the contamination of water courses by dam rupture and oil leakage, leading to concern about pollution by oil and ore tailings, in the Quadrilátero Ferrífero region in Minas Gerais and Campos Basin in Rio de Janeiro. - There are several technologies for removing water from ore tailings and treating oily water. However, vegetable tannins have shown effective and non-toxic properties for the coagulation of contaminants, unlike the traditional aluminum salts used, which are not only toxic but also bioaccumulators. - Thus, studies with industrial wastewater have already shown that tannins used in the recovery of oils and heavy metals such as iron and copper in water formed chelates that helped in recovery. Tannins are hydrolysable, that is, of lower molecular weight, which interact with the inorganic material in suspension, making it more compact and heavier, providing decantation. - Environmental conditions that stress some plant species such as light, temperature, low availability of water and nutrients stimulate the production of tannins as a form of defense and protection for the plant. Thus, the work is important in verifying the best species for tannin extraction and how they can be used for depollution.

Studies show that conventional treatment has been shown to be inefficient in removing most emerging contaminants, which are found at trace levels, however, are bioaccumulative. Taking into account that the Water Treatment Station and the Sewage Treatment Station, both located in Ribeirão Taquaruçu, municipality of Palmas - TO, use a conventional method for water treatment, based on the identification of contaminants emerging, it will be possible to propose the inclusion of this “new” class of pollutants in monitoring programs and an adaptation of available treatment technologies for the treatment of wastewater and drinking water, as these have numerous harmful effects on the ecosystem and human health.
