Short-term Memory occurs when you think about something and then forget what you thought the next minute or two. In short-term memory, people can not remember what they do or say. Short-term memory is important because it is used in everyday tasks and cognitive processes such as motor skills, problem-solving, and communication. Short-Term memory is a storage system that includes several subsystems with limited capacity (Marco & Yasir,2024).

Long-term Memory is when a person can remember the day, hour, or minute a person said or did something. These people do not forget and will remind you. Long-term memory allows us to store and retain information such as; knowledge, skills, and new experiences. This is very important because it allows students to store basic information such as reading, writing, and math. this also helps with tests that students have to take. The journal article Physiology, Long-Term Memory says that long-term memories are divided into two parts procedural and declarative. Procedural deals with what we practice on a repeated basis like riding a bike and driving an automobile. Declarative are memories we can recall when something has happened (Almaraz-Espinoza A, Grider MH,2023).

Sensory Memory deals with the short-term storage of sensory. Sensory memory is important because it allows us to focus on relevant details and transfer important information to short-term memory. sensory memory academically helps with attention, comprehension, and information. Kendra (2023) states that sensory memory creates something of a quick "snapshot" of the world around you, allowing you to briefly focus your attention on relevant details.

There are many ways to make meaningful connections to help students who have experienced trauma by helping them build confidence, one-on-one help, asking questions, creating positive relationships, making learning fun, and modeling your own connections. Modeling also helps students to activate their past knowledge it opens up positive communications. Each strategy is helpful because it aims to enhance the student's mindset by learning and building new knowledge and opening up conversations to help them think.
