I have not spent a lot of time in a village but I think I have spent significant time to answer this. My favorite memory is the festival time, how the festivals are celebrated. They are usually named 'Thiruvizha'. We get to walk down the road, all the way to the temple, bursting crackers, dancing, having a lot of fun. Though I was never really a fan of the rituals, I always cherished the way they were celebrated which was missing is most parts of the cities I've lived in.

I used to enjoy playing cricket with my friends. I also miss the small vendor shops, where they used to offer me snacks for free.

I have a joint family. I am the youngest among my brothers and sisters. Everybody used to love me. That school time was lovely. We used to study less and play more. Caughting fish in river, bathing for hours was my best experience. In weekend we used to go to forest areas for fruits. Roaming without any tension. IPL used to be our great time. I remember icc world cup 2011. Whole village was infront of a single tv cheering india. Hide and seek in forest was awesome. Festival in my village used to be best.

I have 5 friends in my village and each time i visit my village i will meet them for sure .So we gather during the day to play cricket under the raavi tree (a traditional tree) and during the night we gather to talk about how are life's going on and laugh out loud ,play hide and seek and a lot of fun games my best memory
my worst memory is that while playing volleyball near our house the ball bounced off my arm and fell in a pit . eventhough my friends came forward to pick the ball i refused and jumped into the pit to retrieve the ball. I successfully brought back the ball but got stung by fire ant and then had severe allergic reactions and then my friends rushed out to me and then took me to a hospital this happened twice and embarked a phobia in my mind

The living space of villages look colourful with a mini graden in their backyard and rangolis in front of their houses. Every household owns cattle like cows, buffaloes, goats and sheep. Birds chirping sound starts early in the morning. We can feel the pleasure when walking with bare foot on the grass that has dew. People are dressed in ethnic wear. Villages consists either green agricultural lands or drought hit barren lands that are not suitable for cultivation. They either have wells and lakes as water sources or dried wells and a very little water coming from Ground water through bores wells. They might either have a good grass road where you can walk with your bare foot or a pebble strewn path hard to walk. Villages might have either families with a good income if they get a suitable profit for their crop or poor people who are about to give up their occupations in villages and are ready to do any work in urban areas for basic needs. They might have either a bus facility for transportation need or they have to walk for several kilometers to reach other places. Either they might have an ayurvedic doctor to treat an emergency or they might have to travel miles to reach a hospital and one cannot guarantee if they can be saved. In villages every criteria is based on many aspects. Apart from farmers villages have black Smiths , Gold Smiths, Potters, Fishers, weavers etc.,

But villages constitutes of all the lost traditions . More than half of the villagers are each other's relatives. It's a place where one can get help from anyone from anytime.

Villages are not always peaceful and happy places.

I have spend very little time in villages. But those are some of the most enjoyable moments in my life.
Waking up early in the morning by the call of the rooster, swimming in wells, ponds and pump sets, having fresh tender coconuts and ice apples (nungu) right of the trees, small walks in the field with cousins. Fishing, Great village style rustic food. Some festivals in the village temples etc. Totally a time worth the spend.

People in villages lead a very ordinary life with almost no luxury, but they are happy with their limited resources. The locals live in “kaccha” houses or temporary houses, made up of mud or clay, which has thatched roofs made out of straws or burnt clay tiles. The infrastructure is not that good in the villages; there might be just one or two schools and hospitals in the whole village. The literacy rate in villages is also very less due to this fact.

I'm from a rural area. Gudyanampalli village in chittoor district is my permanent address. Our living is based on agriculture. Our family has never thought of migrating to any urban area. 99% of the memories I made in my life are in villages. Some of them are learning swimming with 15 others in a well. Stealing magoes with friends. Going on bicycles to neighbour villages to check of their Ganesha is larger than ours during Vinayaka chaturthi. Sitting on top of tractor trolleys filled with mangoes and riding from the mango field to home. Playing ludo with grandparents. Sleeping on the terrace and learning about the star patterns. 5 people going on a ride to fields on just one bike. Making a swing with sarees and tree branches and many more memories.

Every Year for Pongal I will be Visiting to my Grandma Village. The Journey starts with a bus which was fully filled with crowd as More urban people will be visiting to their native villages. Every Morning in the Village there will be Radham Celebrations where i used to carry the God on my Shoulders. After that we the village boys used to Sit together and share Prasadam. On the Occasion of Bhogi we used to woke up early morning and fire some unwanted things from our home . Grandma used to do some Special Dishes on that day . On the Main Festival day we used to go to temple . Have some Pooja over there. Evening we used to go to Prabhala teertham where A lot of people will be gathering and celebrating . Next day we went to Boat shikhar where me and my brothers used to enjoy alot and some times we used to swim . After carrying these lot of memories, again we used to set back to our normal lives and used to wait for the next ponagl with those lovely memories. :)

A typical Indian village is more harmonious and peaceful in nature. All the People there are concerned about their society as a whole.

The Residential Areas:
This is where the People of the village live. It is placed near the temple of the village. The Agrahara is a place where the upper caste or Brahmins live. The Agrahara is synonymous to Garland. The other houses come in the second round after the Agrahara. They are known as Madaveedis then Mettukudi. The Madaveedis generally consists of People belonging to caste like Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and the Mettukudi is occupied by the Shudra population.

The fields:
There are many fields in a village. The fields cultivate the main crop in that season. The people in ancient India followed crop rotation and avoided insecticides and Pesticides. But for the mass production of crops these things are used nowadays. The life in a field typically begins early in the morning and the people go back by evening after a day of hard work. The lush green fields itself will give us a feeling of peace.

The Yearly Carnival:
The Yearly carnival is a exciting festival. It depends on different villages on when they hold their carnivals. There is utmost discipline followed during this time. A fair is held where there are different artists performing the cultural arts. These all happen in the nighttime and in the daytime the village deity is prayed to and a procession may be taken around the village.

The Negative Side:
The negative side is that most of the villages don't have good schools for their children to study. Don't have proper electricity facilities and most of the day is planned and executed manually in village. The Indian government is making amends to change these in the villages. The above mentioned negatives is leading to many youth migrating to cities .
People of the village:
The people who live in these villages are very kind, naïve and are proud of their roots. Once you meet them it is hard to not like them.

I had a beautiful memories with My Native village. Everytime I go to my village I feel some force attracts me and I feel pleasent and stress Free.
Apporximately I spend all My Summer Holidays till 9th standard in my village. In my village My Grand father runs a hotel , where I used to have my meal though everyone eats at home. Because of this still now I prefer to eat outside more. My grand father used to take me to the fields and he used to tell about farming . He used to take me to nearby well and teached me how to swim.
We had celebrated many festivals and we used to keep Ganesh Idiol for Every Ganesh chaturthi. My Grand mother used to feed me at night and she told many stories before sleeping. But unfortunately After My Grand parents died I reduced to going my village.

All neighbor's children will gather together to play hide and seek and we loved hiding in everyone's house.
Forming a separate sports gang for every street match .
Our parents give us pocket money to go have confectionaries in the weekend, we go as a gang and have it.
Growing up in village during vacations always being enjoyable till date.

My village memories revolve around the village of my grandparent's home. The refreshing breeze under huge trees, plucking fresh mangoes, guavas, playing with water from the irrigation sprinkler and rains, sat with my grandparents on the horegallu (wooden bench), and listening to the village tales narrated by them. I had played games like cycle tyre rolling, goti marbles, forming shapes from mud, did a few coconut leaves crafts with neighbouring kids from dawn to dusk, watching elders cook with firewood, celebrated Onam, harvest festivals, and visited temples to watch ‘theyyam’ (dance god festival). The village has a serene ambiance. The scenic beauty, sunrises, sunsets, clear skies of the village are a visual treat to the eyes. Those were some of the happiest days of my life.

I have spent beautiful memories during summer holidays in villages with relatives and friends. All neighbour's children will gather together to play hide and seek, 7 stones, Dodge ball, badminton, board games like Monopoly, playing with colorful clay, making paper boats and sailing them on rain water. I used to walk in the areas filled with trees and chewing sugarcane tasted so sweet. My grandfather used to take me and my siblings to a children park and did cycling. Counting stars in the night was daily routine, Going to sleep after grandma's story treats. And during festivals the house is full of relatives, making special food items, going to the temple, having fun.

Learnt to swim in well, saw a snake's shedded skin and tried to not panic! Amazed to watch a cow giving birth to calf, little chicks protected by amma hen, fresh milk and curd, fishing and cookinh now and then has got it's own flavour, playing with puppies and dogs, counting stars in clear sky, waking up for the sound of cock-a-doodle-doo and witnessing sunrise, Mild fragrance of mud when it is yet to rain! The beauty of a village is indescribable. I picture it to be situated on the top of a mountain. It has just a few houses situated remotely from one another. It overlooks a beautiful valley through which a silver rivulet flows like a silver thread. On either side of the rivulet are terraced fields in which one can find flowers and plants of attractive and bright hues.

The climate surrounding the village is always pleasant. It is a perfect paradise of beautiful things and quietness. There is no clatter of city life here. The sky is always pure azure and the clouds are as white and appear as if huge pure white cotton bales are moving around merrily. Beyond the valley are the undulating mountains covered with pristine forests.
I would just love to spend my time in this village.

The village I used to live in my childhood is 20 kms far from my school. Our village has no hospital and no bus stand. We used to have power for only 16 hrs a day. In summer it is used to be only 10 hrs. Snakes and foxes are common visitors in the place. People are very conserved and lacks awareness of modern livelihood. They are superstitious and eventually I used to believe the ghost stories they narrate. Now it is fin to recollect all those memories but I am reallly sad that some f the villages still live in this situation.

Every year I used to go to my mother's hometown. I had lot of memories there. My mom's siblings visit us and we talk and play many games with them including snakes n ladders, ludo, badminton. Memories from when I learned to walk till I learned to drive scooty are there. The evenings are the best as that was our busy time- we visit temples, pick fruits, eat snacks together and talk, plant seeds and which it grow, play swinging in the tree branches, visit park etc. Though we have visited many places, this place gives immense happiness because only here my dad feels relaxed from work and have spent a lot time with us. Now my mom's mother is no more and I keep recollecting these memories and time I have spent with her in the village.

In my village I learnt the art of handling bullocks and driving a bullock cart. I also learnt how to plough the land using the bullock and the plough. Whenever I went to my village, I never felt leaving it because of the simple and honest people, clean and pollution free environment, early sleeping and waking up early in the morning. Though we are farmers by birth I learnt farming from my grandparents whenever I used to visit my village during summer vacations. I also learnt the importance of not wasting the food in the village like we do in the cities.

I have had a few visits to my village when I was young. Each and every single street was filled with houses of relatives which I could walk up to at anytime and be treated with utmost love and care. One of the craziest and funniest moments in village was when I learnt swimming with brothers in a huge well. My brothers were forcing me into the well to learn swimming. One of my brother started to filming the fun happening there😂. But it was totally transformed into a fun event and finally I didn't learn swimming at all. Another good moments were my family and relatives gathering for dinner under moon light.. it was a beautiful one with lots of smile in the gathering and simple but delicious foods

Our Village looks colourful during festival times. One of the festival that is grandly celebrated was Sankranti. It is a three-day festival. The first day celebrated was Bhogi. Everybody wake up early on this day and fire the bonfire which was setup with logs of wood and later decorate the houses (with flowers and many colors of rangoli) and carts. Pooja was performed and some special dishes are prepared on this day.

The second day was Makara Sankranthi. On this day we use to decorate the house with sugarcane. Pongal was made and a pooja was performed to all our ancestors. After the pooja we all enjoy by flying the kites. The sky looks colorful with different colors of kites.

The third day celebrated was kanuma. On this day the cattle are decorated and pooja was performed. There use to be cock-fights and this is a festival of feast. Many special dishes are prepared on this day. This is one of the best memories that i remember as all our families gather here on this three-day festival in our village.

My best part in village was growing vegetables with Grandma. It's nostalgic to think how she alone was capable to grow multiple vegetables. As a child, I used to track the growth everyday. My favorite plant was climbing vegetables especially cucumber. I never had my lunch within four walls. I always had it in my vegetables field. Green Chili plants were my dining partners.
You can touch a festival. Yes, believe me you can feel it. Festivals are not restricted to one family or friends or one temple. You participate in it. Joy of celebrating together is unmatched.

A village is place covered with full of greenery. people wake up in the morning and do there work accordingly where they have lot of talks and emotions hidden. Share everything with neighbors whether it is happy or sad. Agriculture and based works are more in villages, so whenever there is chance of learning whose things everyone show the interest.

Memories in villages are more but the best thing is waking up early in the morning and pulk vegetables with grandfather to sell in market where I used to have satisfaction of work done. Festivals is one of superb place where I enjoy a lot more in villages with whole family present there with lots of happiness to see. Cousins and relatives sit together and do thing whole heartedly. Marriages are done without too many workers as relatives, kids enjoy and do thing in good manner. young age people do lot of work to ensure nothing goes wrong. In summer, going to play in hot sun and come in the evening. These are memories which will be there lifelong.

As I am from a hill station I would love to explain how our villages look like…..A lottt of trees.,fresh air .,lots of old people still running out for their work in estates .,with n number of twisted roads.,sometimes spotting wild animals on road when u travel.,the noises of small insects 24/7.,the best views that makes ur eyes snap out from phone n make you sink into it,with small tea,snacks shops with excellent taste and more..

Even now also I am living in village. My best memories are at the time of my school days. Many of my neighbours are farmers and they went to farm and bring milk early in the morning. When I went to the bus stop where I used to board into the bus, I used to listen the songs of birds and its always greenery as there trees everywhere. As many women are housewives they complete their work as soon as possible and they gather at one place and they talk. Children used to play games in the streets and even every small festival they celebrate as a big festival.

As I am from the urban area I just cant experience the village environment often. I just get the chance to go to village during any special occasions and holidays. When I visited my mother's native village in Rajasthan, I had a blast with all the places to roam to and new people to meet. Everyone knows everyone in a village which gives a feeling of security among the people. One night, due to electricity failure, I had the chance to witness the real beauty of a village, the pollution-free look onto the Milky Way. I was 7 at the time and it remains to be my best memory.

I don't often visit my village, maybe about once every 3 to 4 months, when I visit I won't see so many people working at the fields and dairy farm. Most of the people left the village and moved to city, except for elderly people.
