         <title>CCMS SIT Consensus Statement
Ramon Camacho
Kim Pratt
Debra Perry
Jennifer Vijeh
Irma Zuniga

Form a consensus statement about what your site would like to get out of the project participation...

Identify site&#39;s literacy strengths and areas of need

Strengths
Adopted Collections materials - Supports and resources embedded
Integrates Integrated and Designated ELD
Teachers asking for books at Lexile levels
SONDAY program - Third year of implementation
Lots of options for students in providing support
Looking at Reading Intervention Teacher

Area of Need
Implementation
Using the available resources
Consistent implementation
More teachers trained in Lexile levels
Teachers in touch with Lexile levels
Get the independent level texts in student&#39;s hands.
Lots going on.. Need to define what our literacy program is.....
How do we respond? Small # of students participation
Training for classified personnel
So many things happening - How do we use them in order to facilitate student growth.
How to support students who are not being served - RSP, SPED, EL, etc.

SIT Consensus Statement
1. Teachers have a clear understanding of their student&#39;s skill in reading...Across the content areas and is used to help guide and inform instruction.

2. Shared ownership among staff members for providing reading instruction.

3. Students understanding of their reading levels - Engaging in conversations with students being respectful and assisting them through the process.

4. Being able to provide specific supports in reading with a wide range of levels in each classroom - Strategies to be used in classrooms - Differentiated Instruction.
