During stage two children will begin to impose a sense of independence. They will want to do more by themselves, such as getting dressed and going to the bathroom. As caregivers, it is necessary to encourage this behavior so the child does not feel a sense of shame or doubt over their capabilities.

At this stage I developed autonomy to dress myself and go to the bathroom, however according to my mom I preferred to be taken care of instead.

In stage three children will begin to become more inquisitive and explorative of themselves, their surroundings, and other children. Caregivers should help to foster these behaviors in a safe space.

At this stage, I was observant and curious about the world. My parents encouraged me to explore, learn, and socialize. I enjoyed spending time with my friends both at daycare and kindergarten.
