In Ontario, the job outlook for veterinarians (NOC 31103) is expected to be great from 2023 to 2025. This prediction is the result of several factors. While a moderate number of vacancies will result from retirements and employment growth will result in the hiring of many new positions. Self-employment among veterinarians is common with many of them running their own practices. A increasing pet population, rising spending by customers on services, and prospects in biosecurity and livestock disease control are some of the major developments impacting the industry. Also, it is projected that the application of telemedicine technology(using telecommunications technologies to support the delivery of all kinds of medical, diagnostic and treatment-related services usually by doctors) will increase business opportunities in the industry.
