Our mission is to inspire creative, resilient and independent learners who connect with the world. We challenge every child to flourish, innovate and be responsible global citizens. We will achieve this using our natural environment to provide exciting, play based, inquiry learning. Our personalised programme will be led by exceptional teachers working in partnership with parents.

Similarities- Responsibility and connection with the world. Mention of inquiry learning.
Idea of beginning with learners is strong in both I believe.
Differences- Caring is not explicitly mentioned in this opening statement and is perhaps less prominent than it appears in the IB mission with their reference to compassion as well.
Life long learning is not referenced in ours and I think that maybe this is an important element that should be included.
We mention creativity and innovation and play.
Action is not explicitly mentioned.
We don't mention other schools or organisations although the opening statement is the ESF vision- the foundation of 22 schools that we are part of.

Mission statement as published on the website.

CGK International School, a preschool that expands children's physical and mental growth and unlimited possibilities through "childcare" and "global education" from early childhood while providing detailed childcare at the nursery school , we offer various programs during the long custody time, which is rare for preschools . Through high-quality "global education," we will stimulate interest and curiosity from here in Yokohama to the new world, and nurture "genuine global kids" who can think and become leaders.

I was working on a slight rewrite with them this week, especially with an eye towards expanding to primary. This is how I have modified it, though it has not been decided on yet.

At CGK International School, we are committed to educating “real global kids.” We believe that education has great power to bring about peace and happiness. While language acquisition, in multiple languages including English, is an important aspect of being a global citizen with unlimited options, equally important are the spirit of inquiry, acute cognitive ability, and self-expression. We nurture these traits through authentic experiences and rigorous academic standards. Through our programs we seek to create caring, imaginative, and knowledgeable life-long learners who will excel in an increasingly global world.

A fair amount of overlap with the first paragraph. Both mission statements include inquiring, knowledgeable, caring, and reference peace. My school mission statement does not explicitly connect with intercultural understanding and respect. Though my version added in multi-ligualism and changes "global kids" to "global citizens".

No reference in our to working with other schools, though there is talk about the possibility of creating study abroad and exchange student programs, so that might be introduced as part of the mission statement at a later date.

I specifically added the language about being lifelong learners. I like that the IB statement specifically mentions "that other people, with their differences, can also be right."
