The book "Love Does" by Bob Goff contains many short stories detailing what love does. Goff explains that love is not inactive or passive. Love is something that does; love moves. By sharing personal anecdotes from his life, Goff offers a connection as a human being. He welcomes his audience to engage with his stories and relate to them.

They weren't used to it and that's how I feel I can relate to because no matter how many times I go camping I still enjoy the peace and quiet of my home.

A story that I’ve read was called Girl in the well is me. It’s about a girl falling into a well and being trapped in there for a while. The way that I connect to it is because a few years ago I got trapped inside my own mind. While in that mindset, I became a person I didn’t want to be. I started physically hurting myself just like how she started starving and hurting herself while trying to get out, but she wasn’t trying to like how I was. After a few months I was able to slowly get myself out of that mindset just like how she was able to get out of the well. I’m not a healthy teenager living a normal life just like how she did at the end of the book.

I remember being told about a time my grandmother almost killed me when I was a baby, it was on accident but it still happened. When I was about 1yrs old I had contracted the case of "uh oh bad gross ears" (they were infected) at the time I had medication for it that needed to be measured and feed to me. I was at my grandmothers' house and no one else was around so she feed me, I think she put the decimal a little to the right and that gave me a huge reaction a.k.a. I had a seizure, my grandpa took the truck somewhere and my mom had to drive from her work and pick me up to go to the hospital. As they where driving there they heard a song... "So you had a bad day."

And it made me think of how I have been going through a tough time with my injury and how it is keeping me from doing a lot. The quote and the song both remind me that i can over come my injury and it wont be forever.

The book is called The Rough-Face Girl. It resembles the classic Cinderella story. A young girl who lives in a native tribe with her two sisters and poor father. Her two sisters are beautiful, but selfish. They force Rough-Face Girl to work by the fire. Her skin is scared. She is deemed ugly. In this village lives a invisible being who is looking for a wife but will only marry the girl who sees him. The sisters could not see him but through her love of Nature the Rough-Face girl saw him. Despite her disheveled appearance he healed her. I connect to the story because it talks about how beauty is within and kindness is the most important thing.
