In order for a visual form to be deemed as art, the embodiment or application of human creativity and imagination must be carved directly into the work because this will serve as the visual form's unspoken message, beauty, and emotional impact, all of which are sure to be appreciated by viewers. And what intrigues me about "Nausicaä of the valley of the wind" is that it contains a lot of intricate character development and progressive issues like pacifism and environmentalism, but it is also full of brilliantly animated mystical scenes that tremendously arouse viewers' sense of wonder. And great consideration was given to every single aspect of every scene, including why it is there in particular panels. It tickled and awakened a curious part of my brain that always wonders "How would the world be if it is full of mystical creatures?", and the film greatly filled that gap in my brain allowing me to expand my mind to the imagination of impossible possibilities that could or couldn't really happen or exist in this millennium. Based on what that particular visual form is aiming to convey to you, you let your imagination run wild and interpret an infinite variety of possibilities. And to me, that is the essence of what art is.
