In the song, "I Don't Want to Be," DeGraw sings about not wanting to be anyone but himself, which goes along with the transcendentalist idea that conformity corrupts society. This idea also goes along with the Emerson quote, which talks about not changing who you are to please others. Transcendentalism focuses heavily on man's relationship with nature, which is why I chose the picture on the left hand corner to represent Transcendentalism.
