         <description><![CDATA[<div>Local Area Network (LAN) - is a network that is confined to a relatively small area<br>- most common in school - connected computers are considered servers (workstations)<br><br>Workstations - typically have human user interacting - traditionally considered a desktop but has evolved to include items such as ipads and tablets - workstations are connected by cable to the network<br><br>Server - more powerful than a workstation, guided by user needs, cost can be an issue<br><br>Wide Area Network - connect networks in larger areas, allows communication across the world, is complicated<br><br>Advantages of Installing a School Network - centralized management, provides both a place to store the information, easily connected, multiple services, internet access, flexible access, allows for collaboration<br><br>Disadvantages of Installing a School Network - expensive, servers fail, cables may break<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
