I would have liked to see more of the villages and people of Thailand being helped, and the efforts brought in to help the survivors during this tragedy

Before: I have not seen this movie. Seems interesting and a little scary considering I am taking a trip to Thailand next year..
After: One thing I think this movie portrays really well is how dispersed everyone is after the tsunami. I would imagine it normally takes longer to get back together with family (if they survive) than shown in the movie. From a public health perspective, it is important to prepare for these kinds of disasters. It seemed like the locals stayed calm and knew how to deal with the situation in the best way possible.

I think this movie will be really cool to see for the first time or again.

This movie was really good. I have seen it after all. However I don't remember it being this emotional for me. It is a very chaotic movie which I think it represented how chaotic and crazy everyone and everything is after an event like this.

I haven't seen the movie, although I have been to the areas that were affected when I was in Thailand.

Response:
This was a hard movie to watch; the family dynamics, the interpersonal dynamics in a disaster setting. It was also hard because I love Thailand, and I love my friends that are living and working there; just how easily this could happen again. I think they portrayed disaster and emergency response very well.

So interested to see how this goes.

After seeing the film, I thought was pretty sad but in a good way. Definitely brought things into perspective for viewers to kind of experience what the victims had to go through. I think they did a great job of portraying the staff to patient ratio as well as major public health concerns

It did an excellent job depicting the devastation a natural disaster like this causes. They did a good job showing the infection and what a person with infection can look like... Overall, I think this movie portrayed a good picture of what the aftermath of a natural disaster looks likes especially in a foreign country.

Amazing all of the things the family overcomes to reunite
Overall I think this movie was really well made. They did a good job of showing the damage and the chaos. They also did a good job of showing how people could be either extremely selfish or selfless. It also showed the mistakes that could be made be because of all the chaos and the lack of resources

This movie also portrayed the different attitudes of people in such a difficult situation, either very giving and selfless or only trying to fulfill their own interests.

I have seen this movie a few times. I really like it. I think that it shows a terrible situation really well and how strong the human body and spirit is.

I really like this movie. It was still entertaining and tear jerking as it was the other times I have watched it. I think that this movie does a good job showing what it is like to be in a tsunami or any natural disaster. The lack of supplies, preparedness and struggles through a situation such as this tsunami was shown. I also liked how it shows how devastating this is not only to people visiting these places but also to the people who live in places where natural disasters happen. They also portray Thai people as very kind and loving which is very true to that culture.

I feel like they do a phenomenal job of portraying the emotions that accompany a natural disaster such as this. They also do a great job showing the disaster itself as well as the aftermath. Including the lack of manpower, supplies, and shelter. I think this movie can be very eye opening for people as to what really happens when something like this occurs.

I have never seen this movie before, and not really sure if i've even heard of it! Excited to view.

I really like this movie! The fact that it was based off a true story is fascinating enough, but we also got to see how a natural disaster like a tsunami can affect a country. It must typically be so chaotic in those countries because on top of dealing with massive damage and death, you have to deal with language barriers since most of those cities are large tourists locations. After this movie, I'm glad I live in a land locked state, but I'm also weary since I'm going to an island vacation with my whole family in a few weeks. Seeing the aide that one small country has to deal with in times of crisis. Definitely a movie I would recommend because it focused on the story line while showing how much destruction a tsunami can cause.

I have never heard of this movie, but the natural disaster ones are always either pretty good or really bad so this will be interesting to see which it is.

That was a cool movie about a natural disaster and the response of the country. I thought the reenactment of the hospital was probably pretty accurate. Every spare room and hallway was probably occupied with the sick, injured, and the people there who were looking for their family. I'm not sure how realistic it was when Maria went into the second surgery looking that bad with that amount of blood loss. I can't believe they found the entire family as well. It seemed like everyone was lost in a sea of people.

They show how sick everyone is from the injuries, infections, and damage to their bodies. I don't think they glorified it.

I hadn't seen this movie until today, and I really enjoyed it. This movie did a good job at showing the chaos that would come from a natural distaster, especially in a developing country. They did a great job at showing the hospital, and I think that was a great representation of how it would be. I also think that in some parts it was a little cheesy, but all around a good movie.
