Due to the fact that I would always be with my mom to drop her off, I would stay to watch part of the class and never wanted to leave as I insisted on being apart of it. Because of this I was very motivated to work really hard on the movements that were taught to make sure I got to use them.  I've always enjoyed the challenge of being taught something new and therefore remember being most excited about dance classes when I could try a new step, or just in general, something difficult. This taught me to always have a goal to reach towards and not to take everything super seriously which is especially important in this profession. Being fortunate enough to live close to where Boston Ballet performs, I was truly inspired to focus on becoming a professional dancer through watching live ballet performances. Within my training I've learned first hand that dance is appreciated worldwide. Choreographing and improv also now has become an essential part of my training.  Beforehand, I focused primarily on learning set steps in variations or corps work whereas now I see the importance of finding your own way to do movements and setting it on others while continuing to improve the training I've had. I have been able to work with many different companies, schools, and other dancers during the summers so I am continuously making connections and learning new things about the profesional dance world for when I have to enter it. Recently I've been immersed into multiple rehearsal processes with very different approaches to their work. I enjoy that I am able to experience these and see what works best for me and how I would want to work in the future.
