I earned a BFA in Studio Arts with focus on large scale oil painting and screen printing, and a BA in Art History from the University of Colorado–Boulder (1981-1985).

With the necessity of earning a stable living, I built an amazing career as a public librarian and library administrator. After 25 years in the field, I had the great fortune in 2019 to be able to step out of the working world and return to the arts.

In addition to my return to painting and (a little) printmaking, I am a student of photography and received a Certificate in Photography from the University of Washington in 2020. I am also learning to throw and glaze pots in the amazingly cool and arty-sciency world of ceramics. A shout out to the clay community - a kinder and more supportive community is just not known to me.

I serve on the Kirkland Arts Center Board of Directors. This coming year, I'm Vice President and Chair of the Governance Committee. Love that place, and love helping it.

WORK LIFE
I earned a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Texas at Austin and worked in public libraries for 25 years. I served as the Director of Strategy (3 years) and the Director of Library Operations (9 years) for the King County Library System for 12 of my 21 years with there. Big place, big jobs. Learned a lot.

In June 2020, I concluded a 9-month role as the Acting CEO for Leadership Eastside, helping to guide the organization through a major leadership transition. I then served as the Interim Executive Director for the Kirkland Arts Center for 7 months during the mid-pandemic period. 

I think I'm done with work life now.
