Geothermal is an energy resource. It is a non-polluting way to heat up water quickly and easily.
Geothermal energy is renewable energy because once water or steam is used, it can be pumped back into the ground. We need to use renewable sources because if we rely on
Geothermal energy generally involves low running costs since it saves 80% costs over fossil fuels and no fuel is used to generate the power. Since, no fuel is require so costs for purchasing, transporting and cleaning up plants is quite low.

Geothermal energy is the heat from the Earth. It's clean and sustainable. Resources of geothermal energy range from the shallow ground to hot water and hot rock found a few miles beneath the Earth's surface, and down even deeper to the extremely high temperatures of molten rock called magma.

Geothermal-has a few disavantages here are some of them; Geothermal is not used widley. High Installation Costs : To get geothermal energy, it requires installation of power plants, to get steam from deep within the earth and this require huge one time investment and require to hire a certified installer and skilled staff it needs to be recruited and relocated to plant location. Moreover, electricity towers, stations need to set up to move the power from geothermal plant to consumer.

Geothermal energy is made inside the Earth.

The world geothermal comes from Greek words meaning 'Earth' (geo) and 'heat' (thermos).

The technology behind geothermal electricity generation has improved substantially but it still only provides a fraction of world electricity generation.Geothermal power is clean, reliable and cost effective but its availability is often limited to areas near tectonic plate boundaries. In some parts of Iceland, hot water runs from geothermal power plants under pavements and roads to help melt ice. As of 2010, 24 countries around the world use geothermal power to generate electricity while around 70 use it for various forms of heating.
