         <description><![CDATA[<div>Teachers have a responsibility to ensure that they are aware of their ethical and legal responsibilities.<br><br>There are standards that teachers must apply to their teaching.<br><br>The codes of conduct and the national professional standards set out expectations regarding professional behaviour, roles and responsibilities.<br><br></div><div>Howell (2014) states that ‘for teachers to be the best they can, they need to have a unique set of skills, knowledge and experience that makes them a valuable asset’. </div><div><br>Implementing ethics in a classroom can be challenging, as certain issues can impact simple understandings, such as what's right and wrong, and what you should do and shouldn't do.<br><br>It is a teachers responsibility to put aside any issues and to conduct themselves in an ethical manner as stated by Howell (2014).<br><br>In Australia, state-based teacher registrations have ethical codes of conduct that stand alongside the National Professional Statement for Teachers AITSL<br><br>According to Howell (2014) ' before making decisions, teachers need to consider the ethical standards and not their own values.’ <br><br>It suggests that if a teacher is going through an ethical dilemma the ethical principles need to be considered before implementing whatsoever.</div>]]></description>
