The movie accurately depicted the Transcendentalist view that individuality needs to be nursed, and not stomped on, or else society won't properly grow. The poem "O Me! O Life!" by Walt Whitman asks the questions, "What am I here for?", "Why am I here?", and "Who am I here for?". The sun's rays shine down around us

The true face of the sun when looked at with truth would leave the average person breathless
And when a mere child looks at the sun they see a world that isn't bitter
At first glance society is filled with unspeakable truths
Yet when looked at through a spyglass there you can see the wonders of an innocent
It can be said with definite proof
That the world is guided by the ideals of one who believes in being a Transcendent 
The secret to life itself
Is to not let yourself be blinded by the sun
