Teach these rules and reinforce them before every discussion including a reward for individuals or groups or whole class if rules are followed correctly during each discussion.</p><p><br/></p><p>If students take notes digitally, but tend to take very poor notes, add an activity for students to do after the notes that requires the correct notes to complete correctly.  Require the students to complete the activity and check their answers with teacher to encourage them to add to and correct their notes along the way.</p>]]></description>

I have small groups of kids that are pulled out and once conversation starts, students really participate and contribute to all conversation. The full seminar also allows my students to utilize fidgets while they speak which helps with anxiety. This works for my students because they need to move and will speak and process the more they are allowed to move.</p>]]></description>

This method can contribute to eliminating distractions by actively keeping them engaged in conversation and listening.          <description><![CDATA[<p>I liked the list making and then making groups larger and larger as you go to get the kids engaged in a smaller group and more the speed of their comfort level prior to having to discuss with the larger group. I think some really bright kids don’t say things that would be positive towards the discussion but don’t say anything because of the fear of public speaking and being center of attention. </p>]]></description>
