Charcoal Still Life—Toned Paper (Grey)

I managed to get the shape of the shoe mostly correct on my first attempt/first sketch. I made my first object, the pepper (and darkest one) far too light and thusly had to keep going back and darkening it, so that the values of the other objects were right/right in comparison. If i did this project again, I would probably not use that yellow watering can. I Did and didn’t use space effectively—it is appropriately sized, but it sits too low on the paper and some shadows got cut off, unfortunately. That’s all, I think. 习

One Point Perspective Graphite Drawing

The experience I had with the vanishing point is my own fault, because i mis-measured my paper, I therefore had to continually overcorrect on the height of things. The wrong height made my vanishing point somewhat shift, and therefore, while what is displayed is not perfect, I like to believe I at least understand it. It was not difficult to understand value, but I accidentally chose lightly coloured objects, which made the value in relation to one another a bit tougher than if i had chosen a plethora of objects not similarly coloured. My room looks semi-realistic, and if I had to do this project again, I would not put so many windows and similar hues. 习

Impressionistic Pastel Drawing

The image i chose was plain, so I added 8 planets to achieve the full effect of impressionism, as well as changing the colours of the dress and sky. I did not have many struggles, the task was just time consuming, but the planet which is meant to represent jupiter isn’t coloured quite correctly. I enjoyed this project and the sheer amount of creative liberty I took with it. If I were to do it over, I would choose a different colour palette for jupiter.

I did not enjoy using ink as a medium, it is not forgiving like pastel or pencil. If I could do this again, I would not choose something quite so detailed such as human skin and I certainly would not employ the same method (stippling).
