It is difficult to argue with the premise that technology will play a significant role in the future of health care. The nature of virtual reality makes it especially relevant to nursing education because it offers participative learning as individuals or as teams, and it is without serious implications (other than bruised egos) in the event of failed efforts. The advances in virtual technology have opened a wealth of teaching opportunities, and those who do not embrace the opportunities will likely be left in the proverbial dust.
