         <description><![CDATA[<div>-Motivation- a need or desire the directs behavior<br>-Incentive Theory- positive or negative environmental stimulus that directs behavior<br>-Hunger drives to eat, Fatigue drives to rest<br>-Drive Reduction theory- A physical drive creates a drive to satisfy a need<br>- Maslow's Hierarchy of needs- Pyramid of human needs, each must be met in order for one to reach self-actualization<br>-Hunger drive- internal and external reasons for hunger<br>-Thirst drive- reduction of fluid in and outside of cell caused by sodium<br>-Lateral Hypothalamus- Tells you that you're hungry<br>-Ventral Hypothalamus- Tells you that you're full<br>-Sexual Response Cell- stages of responding, excitement, plateau, orgasm, and resolution<br>-Sexual disorders- problems that impair sexual functioning<br>-Need to belong- we change actions to fit in with certain groups<br>-Achievement Motivation- Desire for a significant accomplishment<br>-Extrinsic- external drive, Intrinsic- internal drive<br>-Task- focuses on goals and standards (Dictator), Social- building teamwork together (Democratic)<br>-Theory X- monitors workers at all times, Theory Y- shares control<br>-IO Psychologist- studies workers and how to improve workplace</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Approach-Approach Conflict- having to choose between two desirable outcomes<br>Avoidance-Avoidance Conflict- having to choose between two undesirable conflicts<br>Approach-Avoidance Conflict- One event has attractive and unattractive features<br>Multiple Approach-Avoidance Conflict- Choosing between multiple things where they each have good and bad features<br>James-Lange Theory- arousal comes before the emotion, physical changes guide interpitation of emotion<br>Cannon-Bard Theory- arousal comes at the same time as emotion<br>Schachter-Singer- Arousal paired with a cognitive label and then the emotion<br>Opponent process- emotions come in pairs and are often experienced together<br>Six basic emotions are joy, anger, sadness, fear, disgust, and surprise</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Izard Theory- 10 basic emotions and all other emotions are a combinations of the 10 basic emotions<br>Ekman Theory- Facial muscles are used to indicate emotions and are universal<br>Duchene Smile- a real, genuine smile<br>Smiles are critical when it comes to social interaction; cues for more attractiveness, success, and lower stress<br>Even forced smiling can help control stress<br>Learned motives- learned through modeling and observation, motivations can be caused by social observation<br>Stimulus motives- unlearned motives that encourage the exploration of the world, obtaining info when bored<br>Yerkes Dodson Theory- optimum stress is needed for optimum performance</div>]]></description>
