Students in groups mesure with their own rulers the length of teacher's desk in class.
Then they collaborate in order to calculate the mean value of their results.

Students work independently but they reach a final decision as a group.(3)

HIGH LEVEL OF COLLABORATION:
The whole class being a group has to run a biscuit factory.

Students need to collaborate in order to distribute roles and work as a team to complete the task. (5)

it is important to share a common language.
On the other hand, technology gives us a 
common mainframe to create, collaborate and share.
So, yes technology can be that common language.
Common experience in the school lesson called "Project"
(which is kind of an implementation of collaborative learning)
 in Greece, shows that it cannot be

I think it is a very innovative scenario, 
but I have a few considerations about the self assess part.
I 'm not sure that it really works for such young pupils.
They cannot be objective and sometimes they cannot even understand
the whole process.

I agree with Antonio. 
Digital tools are the basic part of COLAB teaching, but they have 
to be implemented in a reorganised class.

I strongly support this Anna's "technique". Besides, it is the one I use in my
classroom.
Edmodo and Google Docs are two of my favourites. 
Edmodo is also pupil's favorite since it looks like an educational facebook.
Google Docs, on the other hand, is one of the most helpfull tools in colab learning.

To my experience, peer assessment works really fine, but not 
self assessment.
Most of the students evaluate their work with very high 
(or very low) grades.
They are not objective when it comes to 
self evaluation. On the other hand, they are objective when it comes to

It is designed for students at the age of 13 (1st grade in Gymnasio).
I picked a subject that comes from every day life and is used as an introductory lesson in what we call "scientific method".
The students talk about something they (think) they know, collaborate, conduct an experiment, draw conclusions and learn how science works.
In addition, they use IT and learn about cool staff, like the ISS.
