The perspectives on the subject that the audience might have due to their shared and/or individual beliefs, values ,needs, and backgrounds are that we are intellegent and we are strong and we aren't weak and stupid .We shouldn't have to cook and clean against our will, we should have the rights to do whatever we want. Women can do everything a man can do, we all should have equal rights because we deserve it for the work the slaves have done. According to the text," "I have ploughed and planted, and gathered into barns and no man could head
me! And ain’t I a woman?" This evidence shows that the women worked very hard and the men didn't even want to help them. The text also states that, "working and eating as much as a man", "bearing thirteen children "This evidence tells us that women has worked hard just to continue to be treated like dirt in the earth and still women gets 0 respect from people. The text also ALSO states "Truth is trying to convey to readers that although women in general do not have as many rights, she is not even being treated equal to white woman; instead, she is being treat worse than anyone else." This evidence demonstrates that even though men help the white women and respect the white women, they still get somewhere close to the rights that the slaves have. This is the perspectives on the subject that the audience might have due to their shared and/or individual beliefs, values ,needs, and background.

The perspectives the audience might have based on their shared beliefs is that we aren't weak and that we are strong. As stated in the text it states, "I have borne thirteen children, and seen most all sold off to slavery." This evidence shows that she went through things in her lifetime. Not being able to see her children again. Men say that we have to be smart to have rights. The reality is that we are smart and not stupid. We should all have equal rights because we work harder than men. Because as stated in the text "I have ploughed and planted and gathered into barns." This shows that she used her hands to dig. Which shows that she worked hard and could do it better than a man. Men say that we aren't independent and that we need to be helped into carriages. When nobody helps her according to the text it states "Women need to be helped into carriages, and lifted over ditches, and to have the best place everywhere. Nobody
ever helps me into carriages." This evidence shows that she is independent because she does everything on her own.

They might have this perspective because the speech that Sojourner Truth gave was similar to their experience. In the text it states " Nobody ever helps me into carriages or over mud puddles or gives me any best place". This shows us that the audiences perspective is hopeful because they know that they do not need help from man. Another piece of evidence is in paragraph 2 where it states " I have born 13 children, and seen most all sold off to slavery and when I cried out with my mother grief none but Jesus heard me.". This explains to us that the audience might feel powerful when they listen to this speech. The perspective of the audience is strength, hopeful, and powerful.
