Good day! My name is Gian Carla S. Caballero from 11-Pignatelli. I recently turned 16 last December, which was when the image above was taken. I started school earlier than kids my age, which is why, as a sixteen-year-old, I am currently in the 11th Grade. For the first year of my senior high school, I aim to continuously learn and use this knowledge to become a better digital citizen, especially from this subject, Media and Information Literacy, because I'm aware that media has a huge impact and influence in our lives so why not make the most of it for the best!

I've been an Atenean ever since Grade 2. I graduated from grade school, junior high school in Ateneo, and, hopefully, senior high school. My "Ateneo Journey" has been through its ups and downs, which allowed me to progress constantly as a student and a person. I learned a lot of knowledge and values that I will forever cherish. I do the best of my ability to study and achieve my academic goals responsibly as someone who values academics.

For the first decade of my life, my single mother was able to provide me with a comfortable life despite the complications life hit us with. Then suddenly, the Lord blessed us with the greatest gift of all time: my stepfather, who has made our comfortable life even more comfortable, if possible. Although I don't say much, I am fortunate to have them as my parents and will always be grateful for making me feel like the only princess in the world.

If our house were on fire, I would probably grab a book first. Words do not express how much I enjoy reading, especially romance or thriller books. Reading makes me feel a range of emotions I never thought I'd feel. Also, I learned a lot of vocabulary; who wants to consume less knowledge in their free time, right? So, why not read.

One fact about me: I love Zhao Lusi. She's a Chinese actress who often appears in Chinese television dramas on Netflix. My favorite show of hers is "The Romance of Tiger and Rose." Her shows/movies exhibit her passion and talents, which I admire. She's also a goddess, I mean, look at her.

Laufey is my type of music genre. If that even is a genre, it is most definitely mine. Every time I listen to her songs, I feel "bewitched." I'm like floating in the clouds, for heaven's sake! Her music is very personal to me as it elevates my mood and well, my life; I am not even close to exaggerating. Music, in general, is more than just a melody; it is full of life and meaning through its lyrics that I live through.

To live in Paris is a dream. Even merely being in the city for an hour is my dream. The TikTok video above shows the majestic Eiffel Tower located in Paris. The media has allowed me to dream of anything impossible and beyond. Exposure to the world means to dream and take action to achieve that dream, whatever it takes. In my case, I'm currently learning the French language because it's like I'm a step closer to living my dream.

- Why do I like these media?

I adore these media because it mirrors who I am. With the comfort and delight it makes me feel, I hold sentimental value, making life even an ounce more worth living. These media also pique my creativity, curiosity, and interest, allowing me to see the world with complex and different perspectives, shaping my still-developing mind. Additionally, I am exposed to new things to reflect upon and relate to our lives.

- How are these media influencing or affecting me? (my lifestyle, aspirations, attitudes, behavior).

Media is not all sunshine and rainbows; sometimes, it can have its gloomy days. I am inspired and motivated to make the best of my life on the good days. It also encourages me to be anything and everything I want to become with no limits. However, there are days I become so fixated on these media that I confuse myself with the different kinds of persona people have online.

- Is this healthy? If yes, how come? If not, what steps should you take to change it?

Personally, consuming these media is healthy for me because, despite all the downsides, I build a stronger mind and heart. And to have these media as one of the many things I love also improves my confidence and how I see myself. Also, media exposes me to daily new information that I take advantage of to determine the best course of action to enhance my life and the people I surround myself with.
