In my reflection, I identify myself with lens of identity. I often find myself thinking what my life would have been like if my high school sweetheart had not been killed when I was senior in high school. We had talked about getting married once he finished college. He was a year older and was going to study mechanical engineering. We were together for all of my high school days up until that awful November day my Senior year. I often find myself thinking what type of life would I have had if we were married. He was kind, loving and a good christian young man with wonderful moral and values. He taught me many things about being kind and loving as well. I continue to look back for that guidance he once taught me. He often said "Everything happens for a reason, never question it, just accepted". His death was something I could not accept, it was wrong what a person could do for money. He was wealthy and those who wanted that wealth killed a beautiful soul to attain it asking for a ransom. It must have been ten years where I finally began to accept what had occurred, even after help from a therapist. After being lost for so many years, I was finally able to find myself and move forward with my own life and began a relationship. I often visit his grave site to give myself the closure and let him know I'm ok and doing well with the guidance he taught me. I found my identity through his guidance of good morals and values and trying to do better in life in general.
