During COVID-19 shelter-in-place, bags of groceries are available at designated pick-up sites twice a month. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><a href="https://www.dorothydayhouseberkeley.org/bcrc">Berkeley Community Resource Center - Dorothy Day House</a> is a  volunteer based non-profit organization that provides shelter, meals, hygiene needs, activities, classes, referrals and other services to un-sheltered people and families. The DDH shelter is open every night, and offers meals to shelter residents and to the public. During the winter, they also offer emergency storm shelter.</div>]]></description>

They typically provide comprehensive sexual health care, family planning services, supplemental nutrition program for women, infants and children (WIC), immunizations, tuberculosis skin testing, health education, and referrals to thousands of diverse community members each year.  Many of their services are subsidized. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Organized through Berkeley High School, BHS hosts a <a href="https://berkeleyschools.net/leadership/?page_id=214">winter Holiday Meal</a> event in which 300-400 meals are served for the local unsheltered community. Volunteers collect donations from a Food Drive to prepare dishes for the meal, and also raise money to offset staff, ingredients, decorations and entertainment for the event. Donations also include warm winter clothing, blankets, backpacks, and toiletries that guests can choose from. </div>]]></description>

During COVID-19 shelter in place, UCRC is providing support remotely, available online or by appointment, and offers COVID-19 resources for students.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><a href="https://sogoreate-landtrust.org/">Sogorea Te’ Land Trust</a> is an Indigenous-womxn led land trust that facilitates rematriation. The organization founded the first of several Himmetka, a culturally based emergency response hub. Named with the Chochenyo word for “in one place, together,” the Lisjan Himmetka includes a ceremonial space, food and medicine gardens, water catchment, filtration, and storage, first-aid supplies, tools, and a seed saving library. </div>]]></description>

The drive-through site allows BUSD families to pull in, pick up essential learning supplies, and head back home while staying safely inside their car - families can receive technology needs, school supplies, leveled books, and Spanish materials.</div>]]></description>
