This week, Reception began our Under the Sea topic by learning about coral reefs and taking an imaginative journey Down Under to visit the Great Barrier Reef.

The children enjoyed writing postcards about their Australian adventures, using full sentences with capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

PE day for Reception Class is on Mondays 

Year 1 and Year 2 had a wonderful trip to Wisley Gardens.

We had lots of fun exploring the beautiful gardens and the amazing Glasshouse. It was so exciting to see the cacao tree and the enormous cacti up close! We also loved collecting rose petals and spending time in the playground. Despite the pouring rain, we were very brave and continued our adventure. We even experienced thunder and lightning, which made the day even more memorable.

It was a fantastic trip that everyone enjoyed!

PE days for Year 1 & Year 2 are on Mondays and Wednesdays 

Year 3 had a fantastic and exciting school trip to Albury Estate this week.

The children enjoyed learning about a variety of birds and reptiles, and some were even brave enough to hold them! We were fascinated by the owls and discovered lots of interesting facts about these wonderful creatures. We also had the opportunity to meet a beautiful dog who delighted everyone by showing off her impressive tricks. It was a fun-filled day of learning and exploration, and all the children had a brilliant time.

While Year 4 enjoyed an afternoon learning about famous pharaohs and the three kingdoms of Ancient Egypt. They became a pharaoh for the afternoon and had to find other pharaohs around the classroom to exchange information and to build a fact sheet for five influential pharaohs. Good teamwork everyone!

PE days for Year 3 & Year 4 are Tuesdays & Thursdays 

Year 5 and 6 pupils are thoroughly enjoying their History unit on crime and punishment through the ages. They have been exploring how consequences for crimes have changed over time. The children are making thoughtful comparisons between past and present justice systems and this has encouraged lively discussions about fairness and how society has evolved. It has been a fantastic opportunity for pupils to develop their critical thinking skills while learning about history.

PE days for Year 5 & Year 6 are Thursdays and Fridays. All children will need to wear PE kits on Tuesdays for swimming.

The sun shone and we all had a fantastic day!

Thank you to all the parents and carers that were able to come along and support and to the PTA for supplying much needed ice pops when we got back!

Congratulations go to Yellow Team who won by a whisker, 148 points, closely followed by a draw for Blue and Green Teams with 139 points!
