Today we have learned lots of beneficial activities related to the listening skills. In my opinion the most important activitiy is the one that showed us how to teach listening skills with the lack of technological devices. Because in my working area; there is no such kind of things that includes technology. It will be very useful for me.
We brainstormed and we found out lots of useful activities such as; singing songs, using puppets, or memory quiz, number matching, line up with 2 oppposite sides and so on.
I'm planning to use singing songs with my students in the classroom. I will give them handouts of the lyrics and ask them to fill in the blanks while I'm singing. It sounds enjoyable and effective.
I,m planning to use memory quiz in my future PDCs as a listening activity. Because thanks to memory quiz, participants feel relax and they are more willing to listen. It triggers curiosity.

Today our topic was the speaking and we used "problem/solution brainstorming and then gallery walk. We complete the blanks in the problem and solution posters. I think it improves our imagination so it's useful.
We also used "find someone who..." I liked this activity most. Because it gives students some reasons to tell a story about their real life situations. I'm going to use it in my class as well. But I will differentiate it a little bit. Because The questions we did today was a little bit difficult to find "yes" answer so it was hard to talk about it. In my lessons I change it like that :
Find someone who ....
1. can climb a tree
2.can fry potato
3. can't play the piano and so on.
Thanks to this changing they can say yes easily and the other pairs can ask Why easily. I also like paper slide for the students but I won't use it with my students because my students probably can't finish drawing and It will be time consuming.
In my future PDCs I decided to use paper~slide cause it's very enjoyable and it improves participant's imagination. I'm planning to give them some lead in topics such as; holidays, dreams and celebrations etc... then I'll give them some time to think and prepare an outline then I'll give them papers and highlighters to draw pictures after they finish it I ask them to record the story of the pictures then let them show in fromt of the class...

Today our topic was how can we teach students reading skills. We mentioned natural reading elements such as pre, gist, detailed and post reading activities. We categorised the tasks then we discussed how can we differentiate them according to student's qualifications.
Then we mentioned different reading genres and I noticed that the reading is everywhere.
We mentioned Flipped learning today which is not my cup of tea. I don't like this technique not at all. It doesn't fit with my style. :( Because it requires too much responsibility on the students. I want to prepare all of my lessons by myself and guide them "in" the classroom. In my opinion most of the lesson topics and tasks should be done 'in' the class. If the lesson goes outside it bothers me a lot.
We used onion ring task today which is very useful because it includes movement in it. This helps students to refresh themselves. I want to use it in my classes because it's enjoyable to use. However, it requires a good preparation. The instructions should be clear and I should choose a good topic also it's important to be careful about time limit.

I like the idea of preparing a poster by using canva. We searched some websites related to reading such as; mystorybook, storyjumper, calameo and flipgorilla then we prepare a poster on canva. We gave info about the website.
In my future PDCs I decided to use that but in a different way. I will seperate the class with number matching. I'll give some topics for each group. I'll ask them to create a new story on my storybook or any other creating story websites. Then I'll ask them to analyse their story and prepare pre-gist-detailed and post activities on canva.Despite the fact that it looks confusing and time consuming idea and it has many stages I'd like to try it. Maybe it's difficult to apply it or the participants can be bored I couldn't be sure. However, it's worth to try :)

Teaching Writing
We covered how to teach writing today.
We mentioned some techniques to correct the mistakes.
I liked using marker codes the most. Because it's fun to learn the meaning of the codes and I think it'd be fun when I try to teach this to my students. However, it can be difficult to keep in mind the meanings for weaker students. I can write the exact name of the mistakes in order to help them to understand easily.
In my Pdc's I can also use this but I'm not certain how to apply it yet. I'll need to more focus on this. Maybe I can Firstly mentione about the methods to correct, secondly I can divide the class into 4 people groups then give participants handouts which includes lots of writing mistakes in it. They need to find the mistake individually then discuss how to correct it with their pairs after that ask them to correct it with the method they liked most as a group. Finally I want to change groups by using number matching, then discussed these questions :
Which method did you choose and why?
Convince the other group members that the best method is yours.
I can do it this way but I'm not certain that if it's a good idea or not..

Today's topic was Grammar and Vocab teaching. These 2 are my favorite because I can adapt these with other skills easily. I think it's enjoyable to teach grammar and vocab.
In today's section I liked word collocation tasks. It has a clear usage so I don't need to say specific things about it. I want to talk grammar teaching more.

I loved guided activities for grammar teaching cause it would be very helpful for students learning. It leads them how to use grammar items correctly.
I'm going to use it in my classes.Im going to ask each student to think about their parents past abilities and what they can/can't do now. The grammar patterns are past simple tense , can/can't and could/couldn't and time expressions such as 10 years ago, now, recent days, before,when,while,2 min ago, since, for etc....
Firsly I'll give them example sentences with blanks. I'll write examples on the board so that they all can see the samples. For example ;
* My mother could ............... 10 years ago but she can't play piano now.
* My little sister can ............
*My father can't ...........
* My elder sister was ............ when she's at the collegue.
*I can .............. 10 days ago but I .............. do it now.

Then I'll give them some time to think about it individually.
Then they should work in pairs and tell their partners what they know about their parents abilities. While he's speaking ,the other partner fill in the blanks and take notes. They take turns. After they finished this, I can ask them to write a short paragraph about their abilities. In my opinion it looks a great lesson plan. I'm looking forward to apply it in my class. :) :D
Also I'll try to give grammar phrases in a reading text in order to teach them unconsciously.

For my future PDC's I'll use gamestolearnenglish website to create new activities in order teach grammar and vocab with my colleagues..

How to do assesment and preparing a PDC meeting ?
I think the assessment should give feedback on progress and effort, language and skills, ideas and content, attitude and behaviour. I'll probably give feedback on progress and effort and language and skills to my students.

Continous assessment is a good way to assessed learners. I can use them in my classes but It would be time consuming and tiring for me to prepare. However,it's a good way to give feedback to students during their learning process. If a student fail one exam,he will be given many other chances to improve her overall score so continous assessment reduces anxiety and fear of making mistakes.
In my PDc's the most important thing is to clarify the aims and outcomes in order to plan PDC section. Aims and outcomes should be logical.
