migration is the seasonal movement of animals from one region to another. during migration a group of organisms leave where they live and travel to a new destination. organisms mainly migrate right before their mating seasons or to a better suited environment. come species, like insects only migrate once in their entire life time, but other species like birds and some aquatic mammals travel many times to mate. seasonal migration is where an organism migrates every year and facultative migration is when migration is optional for the particular organism. organisms navigation skills during migrations are remarkable. scientists say that organisms use the stars, the sun, chemical cues, and the earths magnetic field. some organisms even travel with experienced individuals or learn on their own. organisms even risk death during migration because it requires a lot of energy, but, as the years age, migration continues to evolve in every species that performs this task.

migration has become an adaptation because animals have to learn to adapt to a new area after migrating to their new environment. they will have to learn to find food, shelter, etc in the new area they will be living. without adaptation skills migration would not be able to clearly function because it takes a lot to migrate and then learn to adapt to their new surroundings

social behavior is something that is most of the time needed for survival. being social and in packs better ensures survival. Being in groups can be good for survival in an organism as well. For example, when wolves travel in packs there are specific roles that each wolf takes and each wolf is protected by each other. This is great for individual survival and others as well. One big advantage is when being chased by a predator in a group, all you have to be is faster than the slowest individual. If you were to travel alone, when being chased by a predator, you are more likely to become its lunch. all these examples show haw being social and performing social behaviors is beneficial for an individual and the group.
