         <description><![CDATA[<p>I have recently relocated back to Tucson, Arizona after living a decade abroad. I have been a homeroom teacher, a Humanities teacher, an MLL/EAL specialist, a curriculum coordinator, and instructional coach.  I love to engage in the deep thinking work of unit and instructional design for equity for multilingual students.&nbsp; I really love to get nerdy about language.&nbsp; I am a&nbsp; mama to a 4 year old&nbsp; and I prefer Bluey over Paw Patrol.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I am excited to continue growing in my role as curriculum coordinator and learn alongside my colleagues. I am in SPONGE-MODE! Working with EKC for these past couple of months has been transformative and I want to keep the spirit of collaboration we have been building alive! My hope for this workshop is to understand best practices for co-planning and co-teaching with students' needs at the heart of what we do. I am nerdy about creative problem-solving and student-driven engagement. My kids are teenagers so we are SpongeBob people...though I did watch Bluey with my nieces this summer and it was pretty hilarious! </p>]]></description>

I have been teaching English since the '90s but I'm not as familiar with primary school classroom culture.</p><p>In my role as Director of English Acquisition, one of my main aims is to create cohesion of terminology and strategies and establish mutual understanding about English instruction across programs. Whether in the US or abroad, I have found myself working with students of diverse backgrounds.&nbsp; I very much enjoy learning about other cultures and languages and am thankful to be in a school that fosters global citizenship.&nbsp; I am currently a grade 1 homeroom teacher and look forward to learning what best practices look like around the topic of co-teaching.&nbsp;</p>]]></description>
