Hazard: Trailing wires. Risk: Tripping. Action: Put wires away, tuck them away or use a cable cover.

Hazard: Chemicals. Risk: Irritation, burns, allergic reactions. Action: Do not leave them out, put them away properly, only use if trained, and ensure client has no allergies.

Hazard: Overloaded plug sockets. Risk: Fire. Action: Only have essentials plugged in. Make sure sockets are off when not in use.

Hazard: Scissors, clippers, nippers etc. Risk: Cuts. Action: Keep out of reach unless in use. Use only if trained.

When new equipment is purchased to make sure the equipment is safe and everyone has been trained to use it safely.

Change in supplier so that everyone is trained and knows how to use and store new items correctly.

Change in legislation, to make sure risk assessments are up to date and in line with current responsibilities.

Equipment should be PAT tested to make sure its safe to use. You should use the equipment correctly following manufactures guidelines.
