On Writing: I've always enjoyed composition and journaling when I was younger. In high school, I would always write last minute papers and would never revise them. I found out quickly in undergrad that this was not the best strategy. Now that I am writing more technical and scientific pieces for publication, I am still struggling to be cohesive, yet concise. I enjoy metaphors, flowing descriptive imagery, and attempts at humor. I find that I write best in pieces with lots of revision.

On Writing: I used to enjoy creative writing more than I do now but, I think my strength lies more in factual, straightforward writing. When I write a lab report, I can normally do it in one sitting but, for opinion or research papers, I do it in multiple pieces. It takes me a long time to write those types of papers because I have trouble articulating what I think. Reports are easier for me because they are based on previously acquired data. I normally do not ask other people to revise my papers unless it is an extremely important paper.

On Writing: I have never been much of a writer. As a child, I became more interested in math and science and how it pertains to our world. Although I don't consider myself a great writer, I feel like I am able to organize and edit my work well. I enjoy writing poetry more so than essays. Poetry has great flow and rhythm, kind of like a song. I feel like I need to work on extending my vocabulary and providing more explanation in order to prove my thesis statements. On Writing: I have never been a strong writer. Last semester I had to write a ten page term paper on the history of feminism. I found it relatively difficult to do and ended up pushing the assignment to the last minute. When I am given an assignment, I always find it very hard to start and outline what I want to write about. I think I take more time trying to develop some kind of outline for a paper, then actually writing it. I also think I can be very repetitive when I write because I either run out of what to say or I don't have enough ideas to elaborate on. On Writing: I generally like to sit down and complete something in one sit.  I am very goal oriented so if I am given an assignment, I am determined to complete it.  After I finish writing a paper or something, I will come back to it at a later time to edit and revise what I need to fix.  I usually write about and relate my writing to my experiences with the fire department because I see interesting things.

 On Writing: I do not consider myself a great writer but once I have a general idea of the direction my paper is heading I can get my paper done fairly quickly. On writing I can do much better on things I turned in during high school, I wouldn't revise the papers unless I thought they were important enough for a 2nd or 3rd copy (such as a college essay). I found myself that I really enjoy short stories and fictional stories written by other people, only when I forced myself to sit through the entire book or story. I don't enjoy writing because I've had trouble with putting all of my thoughts on the paper at the same time, and it wouldn't make any sense to anyone but myself. On Writing: I am generally write at a relatively quick pace. I almost never pre-write or make an outline prior to writing the official paper. I usually begin the paper right away and work from there, thinking of ideas along the way, rather than planning out what I will write prior to writing the actual paper. I like to keep my writing simple, also make an effort to prove a point or make a strong argument. My favorite type of writing involves satire and mockery of ideas or even people.

On Writing : Once I form the mood to write I can write pages on it . I like to do my writing in full pages and then go and edit or chop of unwanted stuff. On writing:
I am personally comfortable writing analysis based and research based papers rather than free writings. That is mainly because in high school most of my classes were research based. However, since high school the only lengthy papers I have written are lab reports. Typically, I like to write papers in one sit so I like to finish them in a day. I also start my papers with body paragraphs and at the end I write the thesis. Recently, I have also explored the blog writing style. I started writing a personal blog as a way of coping with stress. On Writing: I've never been strong at writing. In high school, I would usually take math and science classes, and not so much on humanity classes. I think why English has never been a strong subject for me is that there are so many answers you can give, whereas stem classes usually have an exact answer. On Writing: I've always been very bad at writing. Being a biology major I am use to reading, memorizing and taking tests. I waited till my junior year to take English it freaks me out and I feel like its my weakest subject. When I sit down to write I usual start by taking some time to read the prompt and plan my essay followed by writing the essay. Some people like breaking up their essay and doing one part at a time, but i feel like if I do my essay in one sitting the ideas flow better. I think my biggest issue in writing is the fact that i forget to proof read sometimes. This semester I hope to improve my writing.

On Writing: I think I'm a mediocre writer. I've never really been that fond of writing but I can get it done when it's necessary. Last semester I took a writing intensive first year seminar class and found out that when it comes to topics that interest me, writing a paper is not that challenging. I usually construct a mini outline of what I want to put in each paragraph of my paper before I start writing a paper. On Writing: I never particularly enjoyed writing papers for English class because I wasn't invested or interested in the topics we had to write about. I never really liked how there were so many answers to one question and how when I would write a paper my teacher would tell me that I am wrong. I love to read but that has never really translated over to writing. I enjoy writing for my Social Sciences Class because the topics are something I am interested in. I am pretty good at writing lab reports because I've been doing it for a few years. I do brainstorm ideas but I don't outline unless I am writing a long paper. On Writing: I do not think I know what type of writer I am yet. When it comes to writing I enjoy doing it, but often overthink too much on what I am going to say. Depending on the topic and how interesting the subject is determines whether or not I will have an easy/ difficult time writing the paper. I usually make an outline to get a clearer picture of what I want to say and be more organized with my thoughts. I like to start writing few days/ weeks in advance depending on the deadline. On Writing: I have genuinely enjoyed writing my entire life, but only when I was writing fiction. I love to use my imagination and put my thoughts on paper because of my weaknesses is not being able to project what I am feeling inside. And a pen and a paper gives me an outlet to do so. Another thing I love to to write about is a topic I am very passionate about. I don't enjoy writing if it isn't one of those two topics though. Even though I do enjoy them, I could use pointers and tips on how to write better and express myself while using proper techniques.
