Post at least 2 comments and reply to at least 2 other peers' comments. Geneva is Victor's home, and Ingolstadt University is where he trains as a scientist. Consider how the events in Chapters 1-3 affect him. Re-read Chapter 4 when he leaves home for the first time in his life. How do you think Victor feels? How many miles is it from Geneva to Ingolstadt? Remember the date 1798.

From the moment Victor is born, he is grown up in a life of love and happiness that can be described as the perfect life. This lifestyle, especially with Elizabeth being offered as an object, created a subconscious standard in Victor’s head that he is a god to the world around him. Another incident that affected Victor was Cornelius Agrippa’s books that further inspired his curiosity in natural philosophy. Later in his life, Victor’s professors supplied him with resources of various philosophy studies that in one way or another lead him onto the path of studying chemistry, electricity, creation of life, and the decaying of death. These books and professors had a strong influence because of how young and illiterate he was in science, due to his hometown/parents not supplying him with proper reasoning in the science field. There were plenty of warnings for Victor, but his subconscious passion and god-like standards craved to control nature because these events made him believe he had a chance to create life. Overall this young boy was blinded by many situations and thoughts that when ideas matched up they fueled his determination.

When Victor leaves home for the University of Ingolstadt, he is wary to leave for multiple reasons. Victor has grown up with a loving family and when his future wife unintentionally gave his mother scarlet fever he delayed his leave, but in the end, Victor met his first sorrow when she died. Victor and his family were still healing from the passing of his mother, he was especially focused on Elizabeth’s health. After time passed Victor finally left for Ingolstadt, which made him feel lonely and secluded compared to his life in Geneva with his family and friends. His feelings of being rushed into a new life are so dominant he was against making friends with strangers. This travel in modern times takes hours of around 411.6 miles by car meaning it would take longer in 1798, so Victor’s chances of familiar comfort during his various first encounter with misfortune were undoubtedly low.

In chapters 1-3, the audience learns about the various events that had a profound impact on Victor’s life. One of the main events was the arrival of the new family member, Elizabeth. Her arrival affected Victor by making him feel joyous and excited for being the owner of the young individual who was forever going to be his number one supporter and companion. This event made Victor feel powerful for he was now in charge of something really special in his life. Another incident that affected Victor was his discovery of natural philosophy after reading about the famous scholar, Cornelius Agrippa. This incident made Victor interested in learning about philosophy, therefore influencing him to focus his studies on the sciences. When arriving at the Ingolstadt University, Victor met with 2 professors who would challenge as well as further convince him to pursue studies in natural philosophy. The interactions he obtained from both Professor Krempe and Professor Waldman affected him by making him become more intrigued in learning and uncovering the mysteries of the world.

When leaving Geneva to attend Ingolstadt University, Victor feels overly sad that he will be far away from his loved ones. However, he is also sentimental as he recently lost his mother from scarlet fever and that he will be leaving his family alone after the tragic loss. His departure from Elizabeth, his father, and his friend Henry is almost impossible for him to do, however, he knows that his education will help him live a fuller life. When arriving at the university, Victor still feels sad from leaving his family behind, however, he begins to feel curious and excited to begin his studies and learn about the world around him. According to Google Maps, Geneva is 409 miles from Inglostadt, which means that in the year 1798, travel would take much longer since transportation was not as advanced as it is today.

He first deals with the lost of his mother due to scarlet fever and the family was trying to deal with that. Victor was trying to overcome this and finally decided to go to Ingolstadt to continue his studies. When he goes he instantly feels depressed and alone with no one to turn to. Victor is not open to the idea of making new friends which only makes it worse. The travel from Geneva to Ingolstadt is about 411 miles away which back in his time is considerably far. He is not familiar with the culture or the people so he is not open to learning or meeting new people.

He believes he is a god and this creates this subconscious that later affects his work as a scientists. He had many people influence his path to science and many of his professors would share resources related to his path later on in his life. Victor does not see real life and only believes he is right. His parents raised him this way and even had Elizabeth for him as an object for him. Due t not having being taught the proper way he goes on to use non-proper techniques overall leading to Frankestein. He overlooks any doubts and only considers his wants and needs.

His journey started here from meetings and lectures with professors leading him to study science. We see his fascination with life and he most likely gets the motivation to study anatomy from the reason of his mother passing away. Victor gets consumed by his studies and isolated himself from everyone, feeling that he needs to discover the secret of life. I feel that Victor is overwhelmed to succeed and feels he knows what he is doing. He has put years of work into this experiment and wants to know if he is worth discovering an alternate way of life.

Living a happy childhood and becoming close to his family Victor is indecisive about his decision of leaving. After his mother's death, Victor is faced with emotional problems but eventually heads out to the University of Ingolstadt. With a new life 411.6 miles away from home, Victor starts to feel a shift in his emotions being far from his family and loved ones brought Victor to feeling alone. 411.6 miles may not seem like much in modern times, however in the 18th century with limited transportation the trip would take nearly 4 days. This meant victor had to get used to a completely new life disconnected from his previous home.

Henry and Elizabeth being a part of his life, affected him the most because those childhood decisions affect what kind of person he would become in the future. After Caroline's death, Elizabeth is the one who keeps the family together. While at school, she writes to Victor and informs him of the family's situation. When Victor is away at university, she is his main source of knowledge. Her letters play a significant role in the story's plot. His father and mother treated him with well enough care and love. Victor started to discover his fascination with the natural world by reading a book by Cornelius Agrippa. This put him on the path of studying science and opens a whole world of possibilities for Victor.

Victor also happened to read a book by Cornelius Agrippa which caused him to become intrigued by natural philosophy. Once she has passed he decides to leave for Ingolstadt. With him being really close to his family it must have been troubling to leave especially knowing that a loved one is gone. Even after leaving he is still grieving but not as much. It must have been very hard for him to move from a comfortable home to a brand new location which is not close to home. In Geneva Victor had his relatives and friends but in Ingolstadt he knew no one. His emotions caused him a hard time in making new friends. As mentioned before these two locations are not very close. The distance is about 410 miles, even with a car it would still take a while to get there. So imagine how long the trip would take to get there in 1798. This also means that he would not be able to visit his hometown easily. So, in any case that Victor felt homesick there would not be much that could be done.

Throughout his childhood, Victor is somewhat spoiled, which in return affects his ego. He faces little to no hardships throughout his early development which in return causes his character to shift so dramatically when his life gets hit hard for the first time. To others, it may even seem that he had a perfect life. He also grew up thinking he was god and better than most. After the death of Coraline, Elizabeth, a friend who he thought of as an object, was the one who kept the family together. This drastically affected the way he lived his life. When he is older, because of the way he grew up, he thought of himself as a god. His curiosity with philosophy grew after Cornelius Agrippa's book. He was provided with books about philosophy which expanded his studies. He studied subjects such as electricity, chemistry, the creation of life, and death. These interests and the way he was raised fueled his god-like complexion which led to the creation of Frankenstein.

Especially since the recent death of their mother from scarlet fever he didn't want to leave them alone hurting. Eventually he made his departure from Geneva and said his farewell to his Father, Elizabeth, and Henry. Geneva is 411 miles away from Ingolstadt University. This may seem like not a far journey for modern day times but back then 411 miles could be longer than a days travel. As victor started his journey he began to get excited for the experiences ahead of him.

Victor was impacted by her arrival, which made him thrilled to be the owner of a person. Victor felt powerful because he felt in command of Elizabeth. Another occurrence was the way he was raised as a child. He comes from a nice and loving family that gave him everything he desired. Victor has been spoiled throughout his youth, which has a negative impact on his ego. He has little to no adversity during his early childhood, which leads his character to shift radically when he is confronted with struggle for the first time.

Victor moves 411 miles from Geneva to Ingolstadt to attend Ingolstadt University. He was only seventeen years old and it was a very difficult thing to adapt to. All his life he has been used to being surrounded by family and friends. Victor feels very lonely especially with not having any type of electronic to communicate with. Although he can write letters to Elizabeth and family, it still is not the same as being with them. However, he did become excited about studying, experiencing, and creating experiments.

Victor was sad when he left home. Geneva is about 411 miles away from Ingolstadt. Traveling in 1798 was not easy because the transportation system was not advanced. This is hard for Victor because he had to leave his family behind and was still suffering the loss of his mother. Victor still worked to gain more knowledge and pursued his education. This was able to help him transition to his new life easier because he was excited about what he was studying. This was very beneficial to Victor because not only did it switch his focus but it fueled his interest in science.

As I began to read this book I was immediately drawn by the vivid detail the author has written. In the beginning, it talks about Victor’s childhood and how he spent most of his time with his parents. It seemed that they loved to travel quite a bit but the most important detail was having a new member join in within the family. Elizabeth made an impact on Victor’s life because not just being the only child, he made sure that she was part of his own. She made him feel a special type of emotion, he was happy and he didn’t have any worries or problems in the world at the moment.

When travelling from Geneva to Ingolstadt you will approximately take 7 hrs to get there. It is quite a travel but Victor was on a different path towards his career. After his mother passed away it affected him deeply but he knew that in order to become a better scientist he had to have nothing holding him back. Victor while studying under the influence of Professors Krempe and Waldman, has turned himself into a madman. He is now selfish and he is completely careless about anyone or anything.

Victor decided to travel to Ingolstadt to pursue his scientific education after his mother died. I would imagine it was incredibly difficult for him to leave Elizabeth, his father, and his friend Henry. He found it tough to leave his family, especially since a loved one had passed away. Victor is still saddened about leaving his family behind when he arrives at university, but he is fascinated to begin his studies and gain knowledge about life and death. According to Google Maps, the distance between Geneva and Ingolstadt is around 409 miles. Given the distance and the fact that this occurred in 1798, transportation must have been extremely difficult. Overall, Victor was bombarded with problems and struggles after his mother died.

For Victor, the decision to leave Geneva to attend Ingolstadt University was hard for him to make. The university was over 400 miles away from his home. He was very attached and close to his family when he left his home. This is understandable since he was 17 and was used to being surrounded by his family. After he had moved, he became very lonely. The only connection that he had to home was the letters he would write to Elizabeth. He was sad, but at the same time, he began his studies excitedly.

Victor´s depart to the University of Ingolstadt was harsh. Escaping his loving, united family took a toll on Victor. Not to mention, that the recent loss of his mother made him guilty for leaving his family to mourn the loss. Leaving his family and home behind introduced Victor into an unknown world. He no longer had tight relations, nor many friends- everything was new. Victor had to create a new life in an unknown place. His journey 411 miles away from home was a huge distance in those days. Though Victor was optimistic for his future, he was a long way from home and it was difficult.

He has most to all things handed to him he didn't really have to fend for himself. Elizabeth was even given to him as if she was an object and not a human being. He has a God-like persona since he felt like God with everything given and handed to him. He had lots of love and happiness surrounding him. His spending a lot of time with books led him to become more interested in learning to later become the scientist he did.

Victor attends Ingolstadt University leaving his hometown of Geneva where he grew up all his life. This happening in 1798 where the 411 miles he traveled was a long trip needed to be done to travel that far since there was not modern transportation throughout that time. This only brings him sadness through not having support from his family all around him as he was used to. The death of his mother was also a great big event affecting his life bring more sadness and loneliness. Both being away from family and losing his mother caused him to feel very lonely and isolate to just himself and focus on school more. School was him only source of motivation to keep going now since that's all he had now. This is what helped his interest grow and become a greater part of his life distracting him from his sadness.

Because Elizabeth was such a big part of Victor's childhood, it shaped him into the person he had become. She helped develop the type of person he was going to be later in life. Victor felt like he was in power with her arrival. He was very spoiled growing up which also had a negative effect on the type of person he was. After his mother dies, he struggles and has to change things up.

Geneva was the opposite of Victor's feelings of Ingolstadt. It was his hometown and spent much of his development years which made him become who he came to be in Geneva. He would live here with his family and eventually find Elizabeth. She would play a role in shaping a man, of thoughts. Which would cause him to read a book called Cornelius Agrippa, which would eventually cause him to pursue a life of science. The last straw that pushed him from Geneva, was the death of his mom and the illness of his wife. Used to the positivity, of Geneva he escaped to seek that somewhere else.
