Join us for a creative exploration at the serene dragonfly pond, where nature’s beauty serves as our inspiration! Children will use natural materials and loose parts sourced from the surrounding environment to create their own art pieces that celebrate the vibrant life around the pond.

Instructions

1. Gather Inspiration: Take a moment to observe the dragonflies and the natural surroundings. Notice the colours, shapes, and textures present in the environment.

2. Collect Materials: Explore the area to gather natural materials and loose parts. Be mindful and respectful of the ecosystem—only take what is abundantly available.

3. Create Your Artwork: Using the collected materials, arrange them into a picture or design on the ground/white sheet availble. Feel free to experiment with different layouts and patterns. There is no right or wrong way to create!

4. Document Your Art: Once your artwork is complete, take photos to capture its beauty before it returns to nature.

Join us in the picturesque lychee orchard for a hands-on visual arts experience! In this activity, children will use mallets to create beautiful natural prints on fabric, using dyes extracted from various natural materials. The end result will be unique pieces that celebrate the vibrant colours and textures of the natural world.

Instructions

1. Gather Natural Materials: Explore the orchard to collect a variety of natural materials. Please do not pull living flowers or leaves from plants. Look for colourful leaves, fallen flowers, and fruits that can impart dye to fabric.

2. Prepare the Fabric: Lay out your fabric pieces on a flat surface. Ensure the area is protected to avoid staining.

3. Create Imprints:

   • Place your chosen natural materials on top of the fabric.

   • Using a mallet, gently pound the materials to release their dyes. Be sure to cover the entire area for a more vibrant print.

   • Experiment with different combinations and arrangements of materials for unique designs.

4. Reveal Your Art: Carefully lift the natural materials to reveal the prints. Each piece will be one-of-a-kind!

Join us at the tropical tree orchard for a fun and engaging Blind Trail Obstacle Course! This activity encourages children to explore their limits and embrace new challenges in a safe environment. Participants will navigate various obstacles using ropes and natural elements, promoting confidence and teamwork as they play.

Instructions

1. Safety Briefing:

   • Explain the importance of safety and cooperation. Ensure your child understands how to use the ropes and navigate the obstacles safely.

2. Navigate the Course:

   • Children will take turns navigating the obstacle course. Encourage them to support each other and enjoy the challenges.

   • Monitor the course to ensure safety and provide guidance as needed.

3. Reflection and Discussion:

   • After completing the course, ask your child about their experience. What challenges did they face? How did they work with others?

4. Hydration and Cool Down:

   • Ensure your child drinks water to stay hydrated.

Join us at the field crops site for a delightful herb-tasting experience! This activity allows children to explore different flavours while making connections between the origins of their food and where it comes from. Children can taste a variety of fresh herbs, fostering an appreciation for healthy eating and the natural world around them.

Instructions

1. Locate the Herbs:

   • Take your child on a short tour of the herb area. Show them where each herb is grown, using the information cards in the planters as support. Encourage your child to observe the plants and discuss their characteristics and growth environments.

2. Tasting Time:

   • Encourage your child to taste each herb. Ask them to observe the flavours, textures, and aromas. Prompt them to describe what they taste and how it makes them feel.

3. Discussion:

   • After tasting, ask your child the following questions: Which flavours did you enjoy the most? Which flavour did you not enjoy? Why was that?

Take a trip to the tranquil bamboo grove for a calming Mindfulness and Relaxation session. This activity offers children a chance to engage in peaceful practices that promote relaxation and creativity. Children will enjoy reading, observational drawing, mindfulness colouring, and gentle yoga, all designed to foster a sense of calm and connection to nature.

Instructions

1. Settle In:

   • Encourage your child to take a moment to breathe deeply and appreciate the surroundings.

2. Reading Time:

   • Share a quiet moment together Children can choose a book from the selection available.

3. Observational Drawing:

   • Encourage your child to observe the bamboo grove and draw what they see, focusing on details like shapes, colours, and textures.

4. Mindfulness Colouring:

   • Children can engage in some mindfulness colouring either by colouring in pre-printed designs or by creating their own patterns inspired by nature. Remind them to focus on the colours and the process rather than the outcome.

5. Gentle Yoga:

   • Copy the simple stretches and poses that are shown on the yoga cards. Encourage your child to focus on their breath and the sensations in their bodies during the exercises.

Go for a fun and educational Animal Spotting Hunt along the Wildlife Path! In this activity, children will identify various animal statues that are indigenous to Hong Kong, and learn more about each species using a spotter guide. This engaging experience promotes observation skills and encourages curiosity about local wildlife, helping children understand the importance of the creatures that share their environment.

Take a refreshing walk along a Short Nature Trail, starting opposite the Tropical Tree Orchard! This activity is a great chance for children to connect with nature, see local wildlife and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. As you explore, look for different plants and animals and encourage your child to share the favourite things they see along the way!

Important Reminder

Please be mindful that the ground can be uneven in places. Please take care when walking to avoid tripping or stumbling. Suitable footwear is recommended for a safe and enjoyable experience.

Join us for a creative session of Nature Poems! This fun activity is perfect for young children as we explore the beauty of the outdoors and use our imagination to write poems about what we see. We’ll look for inspiration in the plants, animals, and sounds around us, and then create our own special poems to share with each other!

Instructions

1. Explore:

   • Take a short walk to look for interesting plants, flowers, and animals that can inspire your child's poem.

2. Discuss Your Observations:

   • After exploring, sit together and talk about what you saw. Ask questions like, “What colours did you notice?” or “What sounds did the birds make?”

3. Create Your Poem:

   • Using the simple template, help your child write their poem. Encourage them to use their senses—what they see, hear, and feel in nature.

4. Share and Celebrate:

   • Take a picture of your child and their poem so everyone can see it!
