yes! we need to remember and acknowledge the pain the residential school kids had to go through we need to remember their pain so we don't do it again so they won't have to be treated with such cruelty again! we must not let it happen and know what happened. it is very sad and racist what happened and i will tell them i care.

orange t-shirt is about a first nation girl who had to go to a residential school and wore an orange t-shirt. then the nuns took it away and, she never saw it again. orange shirt day is about respecting the kids who had to go to residential school, and acknowledge them. some actually died at these schools!!!

residential schools are schools where these first nation kids had to go to "learn" they had to go for a long time and the nuns there stole their culture and pride and life. the food was bad, the learning part wasn't totally real, and they had to obey and do whatever the nuns told them. the nuns wouldn't even care if someone was sick. the kids were forced to do it.the parents were either tricked into sending them away, or forced. they even had to SLEEP there!
