What I already know about pollution and its effects.

I know that pollution affects millions of people everyday. There are many types of pollution: air pollution, water pollution, Soil pollution, etc. I know that if we don't make a change then soon our planet will be intoxicated by its own inhabitants. Thousands of animals die every year due to pollution in their habitats. Humans cause pollution by not being conservative with their emissions or lottering. I am interested in pollution because I know that if we don't start to make a change then the planet we live on will be in danger. The air will become toxic if we don't watch our emissions and our oceans will become graveyards if we don't stop pollution them.

This article explains how South West Water has been fined for more than £2.1m due to the pollution the sewage created. It talks about how the pollution led to the deaths of thousands of fish. The raw sewage was pumped into the River Fowey for 12 hours despite the alarms going off in the control rooms. The source was useful because it showed that the deaths of fish were a peril of pollution. We know that pollution can kill all of the fish in the ocean and we are given an example of this in the article. The source is objective and it does not use any opinions. We also know that it is reliable because it was written by BBC News which is a reliable and neutral news source. This source was helpful to my project because it helped prove one of my points. It proves that the oceans will become graveyards if we do not watch our pollution. The article explains how the pollution in an area killed thousands of fish.

In this article, it explains how due to the climate crisis caused by pollution could destroy the ocean's 'twilight zone. It explains how many predators feed in the twilight zone for survival and it could impact a lot of species if it were to be destroyed. If greenhouse gas emissions continue, the researchers estimate that the ocean region’s life could be severely depleted within 150 years — and recovery may not be possible for thousands of years. This source was helpful because it shows us that due to greenhouse gas emissions, the ocean's regional life could be depleted which goes with my earlier statement that if we don't make a change then ocean life will be depleted. This proves a similar point to my first source in the way that pollution affects aquatic life. This information is reliable because it is objective and does not include any opinions. This source is helpful in proving my point because it gives evidence to my earlier point that pollution will kill our oceans if we don't make a change. This shows the importance of making a change because explains the effects of we don't.

The article describes that air pollution is a major threat to global health and prosperity. Air pollution, in all forms, is responsible for more than 6.5 million deaths each year globally, a number that has increased over the past two decades. It explains how air pollution is a mix of hazardous substances from both human-made and natural sources. This source is useful because it gives evidence for a different point than the other two articles do. The information is reliable because it is objective and does not include any opinions. The goal of the source is to inform people about air pollution and the health complications that it can produce. This article fits my research because it gives more evidence to what claim that air pollution will intoxicate the planet if we don't make a change. This source was helpful because it gave information about air pollution and its effects. After reading this article I think a lot of people will understand the true negative effects of air polution.

If people continue to remain indifferent about pollution then many things will start to go wrong. The ocean ecosystems will die out due to trash and toxic waste being dumped into the ocean. There will be not fish in the sea and the oceans will be filled with junk. Another effect may be that the air quality will become toxic due to air pollution. People will have to wear masks outside to avoid getting sick. There are a few solutions that I can provide. First we must stop littering and creating trash piles in the ocean. Second we must watch our vehicle emissions and factory emissions so that we can keep our air quality clean. Finally we must be careful about our energy usage daily. This includes making sure that we don't leave the lights on in our house before we leave it, no waste water when you don't need it, and not overuse our thermostats and AC. With these solutions I believe that it is early enough to stop pollution before it becomes a crisis.
