Living in the taiga is cold and lonely. Coldness makes things very difficult, mostly in the winter. The winters in the taiga are very cold with only snowfall. The winter temperature is -54 to -1° C. The main seasons in the taiga are winter and summer. The spring and autumn are so short, you hardly know they exist.

Summers are warm, rainy, and humid. Temperatures range in the summer gets as low as -7° C. The high in summer can be 21° C.

Because of the high temperatures during the winter, some parts of the taiga have permafrost, or a permanently frozen soil. Water from precipitation and melting snow in warmer seasons cannot seep through the permafrost, so the taiga ground remains soft and damp in some parts.
