My book " Legend" by Marie Lu

This book is about a skilled thief, Day and a skilled, newly recruited undercover officer, June. She wants revenge, and he needs a cure for his brother's plague.
I chose this book because it's Sci-fi, and has intensity and action already in the beginning. I like that my book switches between the two characters personal lives and experiences. I like that the characters trials are what can happen in real life, so it gives you a perspective of what it's really like to go through a family death or sickness that is life threatening. The book explains excellent detail about the surrounding, clothing, and people. This book is actually very similar to previous books that I have read. Some examples would be "The Hunger Games", the Divergent series, and the Michael Vey series. All of these had futuristic cities, advanced technology, and life-threatening, intense situations that leave you hanging off your seat. Even family death's is one thing that this book has in common with many of the other ones that I have read. However there is a difference, and this is that there are actually two groups of enemies that are split up America. Pretty much the whole country is at war with each other. It is actually insane. I really do enjoy this book and really hope to finish it soon, and maybe when I finish I can find a book similar like this one.

Now that I have gotten farther into my book, there has been more exciting, intense events that have happened. June wants to go get revenge on Day for the death of her brother, and goes to where he may be to find him. She does, and doesn't know that when she runs into a homeless kid that helps her get around, is Day. This part of the book is sad and really kind of shocking. Many unexpected events happen that will change the way I see things in the book. I like that we get a perspective of the poor side of the republic and actually see how people live. Reality is put into place to show that not everything is perfect. Even June begins to feel sympathy for these poor people which is a nice change for her egotistical type of personality. The part of the book that I'm reading at this point is actually pretty different from other books that I have read. June is realizing that the good side that she is part of may not be so good after all, but it is taking time for her to realize it. Day also was part of the realization that the republic may not be as awesome as she thought. Many other books I have read, we know who the bad guys are and what needs to be done to stop them. The similarities though would be that two people who you wouldn't expect to fall in love, actually do. There is a small spark between Day and June. This would be like Tris and Four in "Divergent", and Taylor and Michael in "Michael Vey". This part of the book is very though provoking and I can't wait to read more.

My overall thoughts about this book are mostly positive. I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read the second one. I liked the suspense, action, romance, reality and plot twists that were all part of this book. This book was similar to many other books that I have read, sci-fi, lots of action, advanced technology, and keeping you off the edge of your seat. Those are the type of books that I tend to love to read and make reading more exciting for me. There was a good couple chunks of the book that were different then how I expected. A couple deaths and hidden secrets were reviled that totally caught me off guard for a second. A couple really good parts were when the criminal and police investigator (Day and June) fall in love because the book goes into detail about how they feel about each other away and apart. However, the author never confirmed anything about who caused the death of Junes brother which drove me nuts. I would recommend this book because there is always something on the table that either is a surprise or needs of be solved. Again, if you like Sci-fi types of books this is also for you because the setting is future L.A. that has new technology advances and ideas that are really thought provoking. I really, really did enjoy this book and hope to be able to read the second one soon

I chose this book because it is the second book of the "Legend" series and because I really want to know what happens next after Day and June rebelled against the republic. Where will they go, what will they do? I'm guessing that it will be a continuation of the first book. It will begin a new adventure and change within Day and June's lives, they cannot hold on unto the past and what they used to believe. Everything is different so now they have to be different. This book appeals to me because I was really drawn to the first one and couldn't hold on to the suspense any longer. I had to know what was going to happen next. This book is beginning to be as good as the first one, action packed and romance that put this book together is awesome. The cover of this book is similar to "Legend" except there is a different symbol and color. Seeing that the two covers are similar I conclude that this book is really just a continuation to the series. Same or similar characters, and the setting and plot is kind of dark, intense, and eventful. This is similar to other books that I have read like the "Hunger games" series and the "Divergent" series. It is futuristic, romantic, and a cliff hanger type of book like these other series that I have read. I honestly don't think it will be too challenging, I believe that I would rather keep reading then stop reading. This is going to be a new adventure that I really cannot wait to dive into and experience. Even though it is a new book, I still have fun going into this different setting.

My book is really good so far. Right now Day and June have joined the rebel side (the Patriots) and have a plan to help bring the United States as one once again. However this will be accomplished once the leader is killed. I'm hoping that this plan works because I want the characters in the book to experience what I experience while living in America. I'm guessing that it will be successful too because so far everything is going as planned which works out splendidly. I'm feeling happy because if the plan works then everything will be right again and the people will be able to live in unity with one another. I think this way because that is what I feel will be a blessing to the characters in the book; to be able to not worry about wars or as much dishonesty within the government will be better. Some conclusions that I can draw about my book is that the Patriots wouldn't be trying to tear down the Republic if there wasn't a problem. I finally understand why this needs to happen because there is also much dishonesty going on too. The main large idea is that plan of killing the Republic leader and bringing the United States back as one united country again. The Colonies are going to take things over and makes things right with help from the Patriots. June is actually the one who is going to kill the leader. My thinking has changed a little bit, it is interesting to think about the what if factor. What if something like this happens to America?
what side will we be on? What would happen to our government? Just things like that get you wondering what that would be like.

In my book so far, the plan to murder the new, young Primo Elector is in full swing. June just met him and so far she is doing as planned, but she is wondering if this is the right thing to do. The Elector is actually showing interest in June, and starting casual conversation. I believe what will happen next is that June will have second thoughts about murdering the Elector. She will see change in him that is good instead of what she saw in his father. I feel pretty good about this because the Republic needs a change in government and the way the people are treated. I think this way because the Elector is different then his father. He treats the people working with him with respect, and treats everyone equal. Once this happens, we'll see change in the entire Republic. This may be what brings America to come back together again as one. The large idea of this book is to kill the new elector and take over the republic to unite America again. My book isn't too challenging, I read a lot of other books similar like this one. I became really interested really fast and wanted to keep reading. I cannot wait to finish this book and keep on going to the final book in the series. I am very excited to keep reading!

This book is so crazy. The Elector is telling June all these secrets about totally changing the Republic for good and she can't tell the Patriots. The details are all for the better though, and June wants to help. However, the plan to assassinate the Elector is still in process which June doesn't know how to stop. My feeling about this is like a surprised, shocked type of feeling. This took a total turn in the entire plan and the entire book. The Elector is nothing like his dad but the freaking Patriots don't know that! Only June knows and she can't get in contact with them, so she has to work her way around the assassination. My mind keeps being blown every time something new and juicy is mentioned. I am now super interested in finding out if the plan will go as is or if June will find a way to change it. This will change everything in the United States and I want to read and see. The Elector said he didn't believe in what his dad did when he lead, and that he was going to change it. This was so unexpected. It took me a while to process what was happening just like June was. The Elector even said that he would release Day's younger brother(Eden) from being used as a biological weapon on the war front. He's just going to simply release Eden just like that! That added to the shock I was feeling before hand, and Day doesn't even know because he's with the Patriots! That part makes me feel so sad for Day just because he is clueless about the whole situation. Anyway, that's what's happening so far and I need to keep reading to find out more.

My feeling of complete shock is on a flow of constant shock as I continue on reading this book and come close to the end. The assassination of the elector went forward and June found a way to protect Anden with Day's help. Mission save the Elector but only June and Day know about it was a success. Now new information about the Patriots has been reveled and I am stunned. The new information, and June and Day's embark toward the Colonies through the Patriot tunnels is what is keeping on wanting to read on. I really want to find out what new plans await and what plot twists I may run into next. Now the moment you all have been waiting for.... Razor the leader of the Patriots has been working for the Republic senate this whole time. The Republic senate are the ones who asked Razor to make a plan to murder the Elector. I was like "Oh my freaking gosh!". Earlier in the book the senate didn't seem too happy with Anden's new ideas to change the Republic, so they wanted to make sure change wasn't going to happen. I mean that is just plain out dirty of the senate. All of this information was given to Day by Keade, a fellow friend. She was part of the Patriots also, and after she found this out she was included into the whole saving Anden plan also. Day and June are now on their way back to the Republic to help Anden win the people and help him out. Stay tuned for next time when I am finished with the book and have more juicy details.

My overall thoughts about this book were surprised, nervous, and excited. Honestly there were so many twists and turns and secret revels and changes that it was almost too much for my brain to handle. I mean that is what made me want to keep reading so I mean those objects in the book did their job. I think this book and even this series so far is one of my favorites and is more in tune with emotions with most of the characters within it. You really get to know the main characters and how their feeling and what is going through their head. Usually in other books that I have read there is only focus on the one main character. The good parts in the book were the plot twist with the Patriots actually working for the Republic in helping assassinate the Elector. The romance between June and Day was explained as not a perfect journey. There were trials, interference's, even a fight or two. However the two came back and forgave each other and came to work together again. The one part that did fall short to me thought would have been the part about June and Day parting ways. Day was sick and found out he was dying and didn't even bother telling June. That was one of the main reasons why he left her and he said absolutely nothing. I would defiantly recommend this book, because so far the series has been nothing but a constant edge of you seat type of book and romance which is a plus. My next book will be the third book "Champion" and I can't wait to tell you about it.

The third book as finally arrived in my hands and what a beauty it is. I picked this book because it was the third book in the legend series that I have been reading. Like the last book I am predicting that this book will be a continuation from the second one. Like where are day and June now? How is Eden and Day's treatment going? Will June nominate herself to work next to Anden the elector? All these questions that I think will be more explained and answered in the next book. This book appeals to me mostly because I want to continue on with the series. I also think the cover looks really cool. The cover title is Champion with like a fire type looking rose in the middle. This makes me wonder if either Day or June will end up winning the hearts over the people of the Republic. Who will come out on top type of thing. Again I feel like this book is similar to other books that I have read. There is romance, action, a futuristic setting, and battling. Even like the Hunger Games series and Divergent series have three books within them. This book shouldn't be too challenging, I'm expecting it to be similar to the last to books in the series. Same format, understanding, and word choice are not difficult understand and read. Honestly, I am kind of sad that I am almost done with this series. Usually after I finish a series I have somewhat of a difficult time finding another one I like. However after this book I am looking into reading the "Sythe" series. My sister really liked it so I might try it too.

I am now in the book and so much has happened. A peace treaty is being developed between the Colonies and the Republic. However, the plague has rapidly been spreading within the Colonies, and they think the Republic used the plague as a biological weapon. The Colonies are demanding for a cure or else they will call off the peace treaty and attack. Long story short the Colonies become impatient and begin the attack the Republic's protection border, slowly destroying it. I am hoping that the Republic's walls can stay up and that everyone can get to a bunker safely on their way to a safer city. I also hope that Day will be confident in his little brother, because his body most likely is the host of the antidote. Day just doesn't like the idea, so now the Colonies are all up on the Republic. I feel like Day could spare so many lives that may be lost he could let go of his brother for a few days. His brother, Eden, is up for it . I feel like if I were in Day's shoes I would let my little brother make a choice, if he wanted to put his body through the experiments, let him. Eden would be making the right choice, choosing to bring peace and a cure. I want to draw to the conclusion that Eden will eventually give himself up. The Republic is trying to get help from Antarctica, but there is no luck. Now it would be up to Eden to save the United States from another civil war. I believe that this will happen later in my book, and hopefully Day comes to his senses.

Can I just say that the Colonies are the most impatient people ever. Do you know how long it takes to come up with a cure for a rapid, changing disease?! Now the Republic has a situation because the capital and Vegas (which is the military capital) are taken over. Los Angeles is next, and Republic civilians have evacuated there. Day, June and the Elector are desperate, so a fake surrender is going to action. Catch the Colonies off guard and take back your country. I really hope this works because the Colonies sounds like a really annoying place to live (from June and Day's short experience there). Plus, Anden is changing the bad into good about the Republic; I really want this plan to work so the Republic and the Colonies can make peace. The ongoing fighting and war has to end, because it is becoming really annoying. Oh my gosh and Eden agreed to help with a cure, and the cure will only partially work! It mutated while spreading to the Colonies and now the host of that plague has the other half. I am telling you right now that this is what is keeping me interested into the book. I WANT A CURE TO BE FOUND AND PEACE BE MADE. However, I do think the author may add another curve ball the the book because she has been doing that for the last 100 pages. Someone important will die, or the Colonies will find out about the fake surrender and all hope will be lost. I'm expecting another twist, but I honestly think I won't be ready for it.

I really enjoyed this book and this series. There was a lot of action, cliff hangers, romance, and plot twists. I felt like Champion ended this series the right way. However, this book is like “Mocking Jay” in the Hunger Games series. They both were the last books of their series so there was a huge war, a few loved characters who were physically injured or sick, and the girl (June and Katniss) figuring out who they truly have feelings for within their love triangles. Now that I think about it, this series was a lot like the Hunger Games. I guess I wasn’t ready for what this book had in store for me. The title made me wonder if Day or June were going to fight each other or involves one of them coming out on top and the other going down to nothing. Yeah the book was defiantly not what I was thinking. The good parts were the war and the fighting. I like all the intense fighting and constant action going on. The one part that fell short to me was defiantly the ending. I mean it was fine, but I wanted to see where this new life that was brought upon Day and June goes. Just explained in one or two paragraphs or pages would have been great. I would highly recommend this series/book to someone because I was always excited to read again. The whole book is just a on the edge of your seat type of book
