In 1942, many Japanese people (including my father) were sent to Japanese internment camps after the incident of pearl harbor and fear they were Japanese spies. All my father's belongings were sold, so he came back to nothing. Before they sent him away they made him move to Manitoba because he wasn't allowed to be near a coast since he had a boat for fishing. Because of that, we now live in Halifax, Nova Scotia. My dad says he had to do roadwork and other types of physical labour.

My dad doesn't really like talking about it but he said my grandfather went to Japan to visit my uncle because after he grew up he moved back to Japan, alone.

During the Person's case, my mother was friends with one of the famous five, although she never reveals who it was. My mom said that it was a very stressful moment for women in Canada because this decided whether they could vote, run for senate, and be a person. My mom told me that they had secret tea parties to avoid suspicion which is GENIOUS. In 1929, women were included under the term "Person".

He worked at the Russian Embassy and would help with sending and receiving information to and from Moscow. He was amazed by the freedom in Canada, so he stole many documents and left the Soviet Embassy on September 5, 1945.

I don't think my mom notices, but she always mentions how she didn't like how Black people started moving into her neighbourhood. She said that my grandpa and her neighbours would make signs that discouraged non-white people from moving into a house in their area. She said that once she and a couple of her co-workers would write letters to their Black neighbours as a "joke" and say they would burn their house down. One thing that surprised me was that when the news about Viola Desmond's arrest broke out, she was so angry at the fact they didn't even let her offer to play for the front row.

That's because my aunt once told off one of the protesters and he threatened to bomb her mailbox and house.
