Chlamydophila felis – a bacteria that causes eye infections and cat flu like symptoms. Vaccination is only usually recommended if your cats have a pre-existing problem with it.

Without it infection can cause a depressed immune system and the cat can be infected for life

• Discharge from the eyes and nose.

• Fever.

• Coughing.

• Lethargy.

• Reduced appetite.

• Vomiting.

• Diarrhea.

Vaccination available for cats, dogs and ferrets for the prevention of Rabies

Initially, signs include:

• A high temperature

• Inappetent

From 24-48 hours there may be:

• Lethargy

• Fever or low body temperature (hypothermia)

-Your vet needs proof that your pet is at least 12 weeks old before vaccinating them.

Treatment of cats infected with FeLV and or FIV in non-terminal clinical stages from the age of 9 weeks

Clinical signs after 4-12 days:

Furious rabies symptoms include:

• Restlessness

• Noise sensitivity

• Pica (eating things that aren’t food)

Hydrophobia (fear of water) is only seen in humans and is not a symptom of rabies in dogs.

-no available tests for rabies in live patients, so vets have to diagnose it based on symptoms, travel history, and whether the dog was seen being bitten by another animal. A definite diagnosis can only be made by checking the brain after death.
