         <description><![CDATA[<p>AP5121 was last written/revised over eight years ago at the start of School Year 2008-09. That version of AP5121 is still in use. COMAR (Code of Maryland Regulations) requires that each LES (Local Education System) provide a written policy for grading and reporting to the State Superintendent of Schools. COMAR requires that each LES update their policy every ten years. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The purpose of AP5121 is to provide guidance to teachers and administrators in the implementation of the grading and reporting system for all District Schools and Education Centers. AP5121 is used to establish instructional objectives and standards for each course and to determine the factors used for grading. AP5121 also sets the guidelines for contact between teachers, parents, and the community. AP5121 must be in compliance with all student record requirements of the State. </p>]]></description>

Archival Data (each iteration of AP5121): Each version of the AP will be reviewed in order to chart changes and include key and still useful components.  </p><p>3. Focus Groups: Focus groups will be convened in order to gain an in-depth understanding of their use and opinion of AP5121.  </p>]]></description>
