      <description>A successful entrepreneur based in the Dominican Republic, Raquel Baquero has spent more than a decade as part owner of Transwest Enterprises, a firm that serves telecommunications companies across that country. As the company’s general manager, Raquel Baquero has led Transwest to become the first company in the Dominican Republic to place cell phone antennas on billboards for Orange Telecom.

Previously, Ms. Baquero was the owner of Cabo Verde, a firm that distributes and represents major salon brands. She also owned and managed Aqua Sushi Restaurant &amp; Bar in Santo Domingo for seven years. Ms. Baquero holds a bachelor of science degree in economics and a certificate in international studies from Florida International University, where she played for the school’s Division I tennis team. In addition, she has completed an executive education course in long-term negotiation strategies at Harvard University.

Active within her community, Raquel Baquero created the Green Team at her children’s school, supporting its initiative to become a Certified Green School. She is also an avid runner who has participated in several marathons.</description>
