The Purepechas are into a religious belief system who worship Santa Cecilia de Ichan and La Virgen de Guadalupe. They worship them by taking a band to its church and dance to the Virgen. They believed in them because they are strong women who have helped them in every aspect. However, this still relates to intersectionality in culture.

We se the marginalization and discrimination they experience due to the social class working and language barriers.

Purepecha's people are often discriminated by other people specially by Latinos. I have heard how Hispanic people call them "Chacas" a term that means they are dirty or not dress well enough. They call them like that based on their clothing. not only that, sometimes they are call "witches" and people stereotype them as mean people. This relates in some point to the Interview " Pocho or Chicano" where people sometimes don't fit in because of the way they are characterize. In relation to the Purepechas, they make them feel that they don't fit in our hispanic community.
