How It Has Changed Over Time: The Chikorita starts off as light green. Then a yellow, during their sprouting phase. Then back to a green.

How This Change Benefits The Pokemon: The Chikorita starts off as light green, great for camoflauge. However, when they become a Bayleef, they become bright yellow during their sprouting phase, leaving them very vulnerable. Once they become a Meganium, they regain their green color, allowing them to hide again.

How It Has Changed Over Time: The neck leaf starts as little spikes. It then begins to sprout, and becomes a beautiful open flower.

How This Change Benefits The Pokemon: The spikes on the Chickorita allow for great defense against predators. However, as they begin to sprout, they become dull and cannot be used. Once the flower has sprouted, it is used as intimidation, making a Meganium's opponent want to back down.

How It Has Changed Over Time: At first, the Chickorita doesn't have a very well developed neck. As they hit the Bayleef stage, though, they gain a fairly long neck, where they can now use its function. Even more amazing, once they hit the Meganium stage, they have an even longer neck, allowing for more uses!

How This Change Benefits The Pokemon: The growth in their neck helps keep the Chickorita out of danger, and gives them an advantage in a fight!

How It Has Changed Over Time: The Chickorita is a small, 2' 11". Once they reach the Bayleef stage, they become a well-rounded 3' 11". However, once they reach the Meganium stage, they hit a whopping 5' 11"!

How This Change Benefits The Pokemon: As a small Chickorita, they didn't have the ability to fight. They were instead quick. As they get taller, along with their neck leaf, it adds even more intimidation, and will give them the advantage in the fight!
