I found this movie, originally from 1924. The full movie is an hour and a half, so I haven't watched it but the trailer itself has some pretty striking images. They're very easily distinguishable as German Expressionism, if that makes sense. -Lina

From the paintings that Anna put on the presentations slides and other German Expressionist paintings I have come across, I gathered that many of them usually involve a distorted face with an almost grotesque expression. Also, the paintings are usually either in black and white or very colourful. I'm can't explain how but I think this loosely links to what we were talking about with the lighting and how different coloured face paint/makeup will pop in different lighting. - Lina

Here is a a surrealism poem from Robert Desnos he was obsessed with the dreams states and using there themes - we found this poem on black bored that anna put up. However looking at certain sections of this poem we could look at the themes and take something from there for example from this part of the poem:

You who are at the depths of my dreams stirring up a mind
full of metamorphoses leaving me your glove
when I kiss your hand.
In the night there are stars and the shadowy motion of the sea,
of rivers, forests, towns, grass and the lungs
