Once you are in, you can't get out anymore as hard as you try. The Guardians stabbed Andy ten times and while Andy was dying, he realized his gang jacket is just a jacket. No one from his gang was there to help him, he was just there dying. The issue of gangs needs to be solved because there are a lot of gangs out there that are killing people and killing each other. Gangs affect people in their hometown as well as everyone surrounding them. He gets stabbed because the Guardians see he is wearing a Royal jacket and they are gang rivals. When Andy is dying, he thinks being in the gang is not worth it. He says, " wondered why the rumbles and the jumps and the purple jackets had always seemed so important to him before" (Hunter 5)
 When Andy dies, his girlfriend Laura is very  because he's bleeding and dying on the sidewalk. There's nothing she can do about it because it's too late. He was out there for a long time and he bled to death. When people walk by him, they stabbed him because he's wearing a Royals gang jacket. A drunk guy comes by him when h'es on the ground bleeding, and can't help. Then some kids come by and they are too scared to help because they are afraid of the Guardians. The boy ends up dying and as he's dying, he realizes he is not glad he is part of a gang. This issue is important to solve because the less gangs there are, the less money we'll spend as a country. Gangs are ruining cities by writing their gang signs. Gangs are ruining families by gang members killing innocent people on the streets and that impacts their families because they are left without a family member.
