Geologist Vegner discovered that all the continents were once formed in one big land mass, he called it Pangea (which means “all earth”)

In 1953, oceanographers discovered a 12,000 foot long mountain range underwater. They called in the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.

The average sea floor depths are around 4-5,000 meters.

1. All the continents had formed into one big land mass.

2. Molten rock had been forcing itself up from seafloor spreading and was formed into new crust onto the ocean floor.

3. There was a mountain range in the ocean called the mid Atlantic ridge.

In the video When Billnye said that all contents are formed by one big land mass called Pangaea and Molten rocks goes up from seafloor spreading and is made into new crust .

Three things I learned from Bill Nye were;

1. A very curious geologist named Alfred Wegener discovered that all the continents once fit together, as one. And Wegener identified this large land mass as Pangea, which is what he called it. The word "Pangea" derived from the Greek word "pangaia", though Alfred was German, he saw this name as fit. The word means "all of Earth."

2. Until the second world war, most scientists imagined that the bottom of the ocean was flat. Though, about two miles beneath the waves of the Pacific ocean, it was discovered that something else entirely was- mountains.

3. In around 1953, it was found out that a 12, 000 foot long mountain range stood underwater, which they called the Mid-Atlantic ridge.
