This not only helped my understanding, but it helped me to raise my grade which helped me to stay motivated.

Not every assignment being individual and silent, some being individual with music and headphones allowed or group/partner work. Having set out periods of class on certain days where we can work on missing assignments or read a book. Having respect for your students. Finding positivity and humor in class.

This didn't help me to learn at all because everything was basically busy work. This also messed up my sleep schedule and it forced me to come to school very tired, so I feel like I performed worse in class.

Publicly announcing students off task or missing work, anything that could be embarrassing. Never ever allowed to listen to music during work. Consistently silent classrooms suck. I appreciate quiet but if it's every day all class it is easier to be off task.

I think that when a teacher actually cares about how their students do, their students will want to work hard and do well for them.

I have had teachers that let students learn the material themselves, and in my experience, I don't learn or retain the material as well as I would when the teacher actually teaches us.
